I was reading a thread where the subject of exercise to lookmore feminine was being discussed  , but lost it ,  anyway i agree with Emily  on body weight exercises they are the best real world strength  exercises along with planking etc .....but for my own opinion
Weight bearing .. Squats are important  , along with lunges or leg extention and  calf raisers and most important hamstring exercises to build up a good set of legs ....hamstrings are important most  to give that well rounded  look , and a good set of thighs and muscles around  the hip abducters gives the apperance of a narrow waist , myself i still have a couple of handfuls  of fats dispersed  over my abs ...but i,m saving that for lipo .. ( use it to enhance other areas)
Anyway  i see being fit and muscular  as a good way to pass ..... its not for everyone  of  course
Heres a link to female body sculpturing

I stopped running when I started to transition and replaced it with a power walk instead. I do the same distance as before but I keep my heart rate at around 115-120. I definitely have lost some muscle although I didn't have a lot before but my legs got a nice feminine form....I guess..

Thats good to hear , I, m hoping I will get a similar effect once ive been on hrt long enough....I am hoping my body will build female type muscle not as strong as a man so will lose the masculine muscle and replace reshape with female muscle ...to the limits of my genetics. ..hrt is very powerful it really can have a profound effect  so I hope it works for me ...

I've been working with a trainer for the past couple of months to help me get in shape, and lose some weight. Coming into it my one requirement is that I don't want to bulk up, or add any muscle, just get toned. The trainer has come up with some really creative exercises, and I'm pleased with the results. Each session is something different, and I never know what to expect.

We use a TRX, boxes, medicine ball, and some light weights. Non training days I usually ride my bike.

That will get you fit ....its pretty hard to bulk without testosterone....if you want to have some fun try "body pump "  thats weight bearing exercise in a class with music the reps are too high to bulk up but it exercises every muscle group ive been doing it for years it can be quite testing.if you  push yourself   but its very enjoyable. spin/ rpm is good too

hmm, I'll have to look into the body pump class. just started HRT on Monday, so I was worried i would have any gains prior to that.

My workouts focus on slow-twitch muscles -- lots of endurance training.  Low weights, high reps.  Also, lots of stretching.  It's amazing how being limber can affect how gracefully you move through the world.
What you look forward to has already come, but you do not recognize it.

Yes exercise will bring grace and fluid confident movement I myself jave avoided that cromag type moment typical of the meat head crowd

I am pre-HRT and trying to get to a particular target weight before I start (concerned about a little belly fat). I do two 700 calorie burns on a  recumbent bike on weekdays and three on the weekends. I have also radically changed my diet in the last month because one without the other seems self-defeating.
My name is Alyssa. Emily was my name for myself when I was a teen. Why did I make Emily part of my username? To remind myself that everything I am now is because of everything I have gone through up to this point.

That should do it.  Whew!

You can, in the meantime, start clearing your facial hair and working on your voice, if you haven't already.  Those take so much time anyways, and really have nothing to do with HRT.

Yes. A merit of pre-HRT is that I am generally stronger than most women. HRT certainly will weak my strength in overall. When the air is clean, I run about 20 km or 12 miles along the hills. Most women envy my body figure. I am a kind of big eater, but regular exercise has kept my weight nearly the same during the past 13 years.

Just do it.

Thank you Sophia. Yes, I am trying to become the master of my own larynx...still in the early stages of that. It is super tricky. I also plan on starting laser hair removal about the same time I start HRT...a couple months.
