Yesterday I had a personal session at Sephora to learn how to put makeup on. Trying to stumble through it on my own was frustrating, so I figured I would give this a try. Going into it I was a bit nervous, mainly because of how others would look at me while i was there. From the time I arrived the staff was super friendly, and made me feel at ease. During the time I was there, I got a few odd looks from people passing by, but that was about it. All of the staff kept stopping by, and admiring the process. We tried a bunch of different products, and techniques to discuss the process and results. I learned a lot from the whole experience, and I'm happy with the results.

You look nice! Now, grow out that hair and change your glasses! You're well on your way.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

They say the light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train. I say, climb aboard!

Thank you

I really wish my hair would grow faster, but it's probably going to be Christmas time before I can really do much with it.

You look great... have been discussing doing the same thing with Mac but I do know they have a Sephora close as well. What did you think of their products? Did they feel nice on?

You do look great

I then that your make up looked great! I went into Sephora in the Spring and found the staff great. I explained myself as being transgender and knowing nothing about make up. The young woman who worked with me showed me how to do each stage of the make up (more than I use) and gave me an idea of products and colours. I still use some of the Sephora products as they really work for me. I just did the basic light face make up, lipstick and brows. Since then I have added mascara and eye shadow. Sephora also have classes. You can check them out on their site. All the best with your hair. I am jealous as you at least have hair to grow. Hugs

Hi.  I had the full makeover there about a month ago.  Staff was incredibly nice, treated me just like any other woman they're trying to get to spend a ridiculous amount of money on overpriced cosmetics.  I did.  Some of the stuff worth the extra money.  I posted a picture of their handiwork somewhere here.

Thank you, this is the first time I felt good about taking my picture. Never taken a selfie before, so that was a bit of a challenge

I would imagine Mac would be very similar, I just chose Sephora because it was close. For the persona session, I booked it about six weeks in advance, since they have a limited number of openings.

As for the products, I was very surprised on how light they feel. We used a mix of different products in order to hide my five o'clock shadow, which is fairly thick. I'll put together a list for reference.

Have to agree, the staff was great. The session was supposed to be for 90 minutes, but by the time we finished it was about 2.5 hours. She walked me step by step, giving a little more attention to hiding facial hair in the beginning, then contouring to show me how to change facial lines. The rest was just playing around with different colors. I spent a little more than I planned, but I looked at it as an investment. Plus you can go back anytime if you need advice.

They made me feel like any other woman that would come in, it was very relaxing. Yeah, some of it's a bit overpriced, but the quality seems to be worth it.

Oh I loved it.  The quality is all fantastic. Just adds up really fast when you get it all at once, brushes included.  Already had the foundation and some color corrector or it would have been worse.
Some of it will buy again for sure.  Absolutely love the mascara I got.

PS you look fantastic.
