I have been self-medicating with estrogen for about 4 months, and decided to bring the whole thing under medical supervision. My basic labs were OK. However, when it came to the first-time hormone levels, there were some strange results.

My estrogen levels came back in the OK range for M2F. However, my first-time testosteron levels came back shockingly, super-low, like under 3, from the lab. The doctor did not know what to make of it. I assumed it was an error in the lab test. I am going back for a repeat.

Then, I started reading a bit, and became concerned. What if that number is correct?? What would it mean?

In some people, estrogen is sufficient to block testosterone. You may have been on the low end much of your life and the natural drop as you age may have made the job much easer for estrogen. It will be an advantage not needing blockers as you will not need to deal with the side effects.

My T tested the same.  It means your circulating T level is undetectable; your body is no longer producing testosterone.  I asked my Dr about it last month and she said that this is not a problem at all.

My Last T came back at .5 yes as in 0.5...I have an implanted medication device that delivers medications that as a side effect subdue my pituitary glands ability to stimulate T production...I am not on any blockers or anything like that...I was told that as far as health concerns go...loss of libido, loss of motivation and energy, lowered sexual function, maybe some secondary female characteristics after a very long time. As far as things go it could not have worked out better for me. One whole set of meds I don't have to deal  with in T blockers and natural loss of T just makes Transitioning a little easier...IMHO
