Hoe long do your binders typically last?

And how many do you go through in a year?

I've had three since january/coming out. An underworks tri-top, which I wore every day for four or five months (four or five months of not being able to breathe >~<). Got me completely flat to begin with, but by three-ish months it wasn't doing much more than a sports bra would (plus the classic uniboob effect).

Then I got two GC2B tri-tops - perfect for my body shape, got me flatter than I thought possible to begin with, but having worn them everyday for five months (so probably 2.5 months worth of continuous use on each of them) I'm back to the sports bra/uniboob effect. And still not a fan.

Happily, winter is coming so I can hide it with layers, but I can see myself replacing them come the spring. Money ;-;

Just wanted to hear some other guys/transmasc people's experiences. Thanks in advance for any responses, and I wish you all a fabulous weekend :3

I got my Underworks binder in April and have worn it almost every day since then. It still works better than a sports bra but I definitely need a new one. I expect that 6 months of continuous wear is about the best a guy can hope for. That tends to be the lifespan of other support garments (underwear and medical garments).
They aren't cheap but I have a large chest and binders are cheaper than bras in my size and come with the bonus of making me feel comfortable...

When I started binding I got 2 Underworks binders and just rotated them each day. Lasted for just over 2 years. One got a hole in the stitching and the other was just too stretched out to really serve a purpose.

I used to have a system where I rotated binders by their strength. I also double binded (the Underworks 997 and swim binder) and always wore one of the sets. I would have 2 sets for important stuff (rare), 2 for work and 2 for home/sleep.

So when I bought binders, I would replace the top two sets (4 binders) and then rotate everything else down by one.
I could usually go about 8 months before the middle set felt uncomfortable, so I would buy 8 binders a year (with the later 4 getting shifted to part of the following year).

Note: I don't necessarily recommend this as it kills your back/shoulders. :P

Thanks so much everyone :) very useful info.

I think I might plan out a binder rotation for the next ~18 months 'til top surgery's on the horizon. Would like to double bind but did it once and it really does kill your back and shoulders! And then when you're in pain you're constantly aware of the chest lumps *-*

18 months. 18 months and they'll be tossed in an incinerator. Happy thoughts v.v

Thank you! (and sorry for the typo in the thread title, just clocked that D:)
