Flying sucks, especially in economy, if you're kinda tall (6') and are having a 30 hour trip.

"Hey Charlie! I think I found a piece of someone!"

"Could it be that Ashley we're looking for?"

"I don't know, Charlie...it's not a very big piece I've found..."

"...oh...I see...is it at least something we can use to verify whether it -is- her?"

"Well...it's a fragment of the...behind...you know...the butt..."

"I see, Jonathan...damned if I ever thought I'd say this, but that is the finest piece of ass I've seen in my life!"

"Yeah, Charlie...I guess it must be Ashley after all, then...sigh..."

Eeeh, bad joke, I know! Sorry! I couldn't...it typed itself, honest!

I quite like flying...in fact, everytime I fly, I'm hoping that the plane will keep on flying, and not suddenly decide not to.

Bad jokes aside, I feel most comfortable with my feet on the ground. You know the chance of there being a crash is sooooo teeny, but it's there anyhow! Well, but there's a risk to anything. At least you'll get a nice view.

Well, I don't understand your fear.  Most people who go up, tend to come back down.  And some of those who come back down do so safely.                  ;)

(I wouldn't have written that if you hadn't already taken the trip)   :)

Just don't use Delta, fly American.

Doesn't
Ever
Leave
The
Airport

They make you sit for hours and won't feed you or give you water....and you hardly get to get up to pee. "The plane may leave any minute!!" Even though its been three hours.

"In my world, everybody is a pony and they all eat rainbows and poop butterflies!"

If the shoe fits, buy it in every color.

Good to hear you're safe and sound.

I've only flown twice (well, four times, since we flew back again as well...) in my life, pretty short trips, too, only lasting 5 hours at best. And there was nothing to suggest the plane might crash at any point, so all I could do was enjoy the view.

There's nothing like leaving a grey and cold world behind, and then find a world full of...light...and warmth over the clouds. It's beautiful.

I had a good laugh when I read this Lori.

I'm glad to hear Ashley that your flight went well.  I spend a lot time flying but the time I was actually scared was coming into Heathrow Airport.  There were planes circling everywhere and our plane, Japan Airlines, nose dived so severely we nearly all had nose bleeds!!! :o

Use to fly as partners with a friend who owned a bush planes. Actually it was a Cessna converted to be used as a bush plane complete with pontoons for landing on water ways.  We did charter for tourists on the Georgian Bay back in the late 70's I have never been afraid to fly, especially not after flying light aircraft.

Hi Ell and Buttercup. I didn't know that they called these light aircraft bush planes in Australia as well. Makes sense though, because like Canada, these light aircraft are about the only convenient transportation in those areas where there is nothing hundreds of miles of wilderness and they can land where ever there are any waterways Like Australia's outbacks and the northern regions of the Canadians provinces. I believe that's where they derived the name bush planes from. They have them in the wilderness areas of US as well.

Hi Ash,

   That was good and funny.

I may be the only human on earth to do this, but I would have covered my face when I was near smelly man.

I wish I could have been there with you to see "rachael".

I beg your pardon!  Having been in management with Delta I can assure you that is not what it stands for.  With all the paperwork which we were constantly being snowed under by, Delta stands for:
Don't
Ever
Leave
Trees
Alive

And just as an FYI for everyone, Delta had the highest on-time statistics last month according to the FAA. :P :P :P :P

By the way Ashley, did you notice the first sign you see at the airport says "Terminal"?

Ugh, tin-can memories here too. I love flying though :)
