I am out to everyone I know, but I haven't put my "mug" on this site. I am now in negotiations with myself to maybe do this. Has anyone regretted putting up their picture or had something bad happen as a result of doing it? I like seeing what others look like. It makes it more personal. Thought I might reciprocate. Of course, if I don't put it up, I could do the old John Lovittz skit, " Yeah, I look like Morgan Fairchild. Yeah that's the ticket!" (Apologies to the younger crowd who have no idea what that is.)

Go for it Moni!  Have never had a problem with this site but gained a few ->-bleeped-<-s on Facebook.

If you have thoughts of living a post-op life where you aren't actively out as trans, I would discourage it.
What you look forward to has already come, but you do not recognize it.

Monica, I have loved your posts and feel that I have gotten to know you through your insights and alternative viewpoints. I love the image that you post. I would also like to get to know the image that you feel represents the real you. In the end, you need to feel comfortable. Do what feels right for you, after all, that is what this site is all about.

Best wishes,
Anne

I would love to see your face!  But I understand your reluctance.

I hesitated before putting mine up.  But then I figured that anyone from my "real life" who might give me grief if they recognized me would not be caught dead on Susan's Place.  I might be interesting enough to stalk after I come out in public, but not before.

Facebook is a different story, though.  I am very paranoid about FB because it is so promiscuous.  Be really careful there.

I will support your choice either way.

Thank you for your thoughts ladies. I will never be slealth. I have too many people who know me and I don't  feel like I pass that well. I was worrying that if my face is out there I might not be as open with my thoughts. Maybe someone I know would read thoughts not intended for them. Then I thought, I have never heard of another "Moni" so I guess there is no anonymity anyway. So as soon as I figure out how to do it, I'll find a picture where I am wearing at least some clothes and put it up. (I am so joking, although the naked baby picture is tempting me.)

Yes, I had something very disturbing happen to me and now that I think of it, it's one big reason why I hate the idea of putting my picture anywhere on the internet anymore.

In short, I got hit with revenge porn and it wasn't funny. I guess it was my bad for letting that sort of picture get out, but it was only meant for people who I trusted.

Well, fool me once. I ain't putting my mug on the internets no more, not ever again.

I'm fine with double negatives though.

I have a problem on Facebook , someone keeps hijacking my picture and pretending to be me, but Facebook has been really good at stopping it. My pictures are long gone so its useless to worry I could never retrieve them.

I am out to most of my friends, my family, and many people at work, but I dress androgynously or present as male when I feel it is the path of least resistance. I don't mind posting my picture here.  As Kathy Lauren said, most cis-people would never visit this site, or even know it existed.  People would have to know my screen name to Google any female pictures of me. I do have a lot of pictures on FetLife, though, and there is some liability in that.

Right now I am wrestling with the decision to update my LinkedIn profile. I feel that would have more profound repercussions than anything I do on this site.

Have any of you outed yourself on LinkedIn?  Did anyone comment? Any drama?
