"700 incidents of harassment fuelled by the news of Trump's election have occurred, according to a hate watch group.
The Southern Poverty Law Centre (SPLC) released the information which was obtained by collecting reports from news articles, social media, and direct submissions to their own"

The other day I mentioned this to a Trump voter in my office.  His reply was simply denial.  Most of the incidents did not happen and those that did were created by liberals trying to discredit Trump.

People are hopeless.

I wonder if I should have reported to the SPLC the mob of leftists holding baseball bats that threatened me election night as I left a GOP election party. But knowing them they'd have round-filed it.

It's not like several incidents that ended up in national media haven't ended with arrests for submitting fake police reports, or there's a track record of people faking hate crimes to get attention.

And lol using social media.

In a nation of 320 million people, I don't doubt there's a few real ones out there. But I've also learned to be extremely skeptical of these types of claims. Heck if you count each individual as an incident there were at least 100+ for those of us at the election night party. But because we're in the wrong side the media will never care.

Eta: actually they did report it, but called it a "protest" and left out the verbal threats and weapons.

Do you seriously believe more people are harassing trans people simply because Trump was elected?

The liberal media loves to generate fear stories.

You all are great proving my point without anyone even asking.  If this is what you have to tell yourself to sooth your conscience for your cooperation with objective evil then I understand.

For anyone's edification, this is what they have wrought.

Alt-Right Exults in Donald Trump's Election With a Salute: 'Heil Victory'

By Joseph Goldstein

http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/11/21/us/alt-right-salutes-donald-trump.html?_r=0&referer=

America, he said, belonged to white people, whom he called the "children of the sun," a race of conquerors and creators who had been marginalized but now, in the era of President-elect Donald J. Trump, were "awakening to their own identity."

As he finished, several audience members had their arms outstretched in a Nazi salute. When Mr. Spencer, or perhaps another person standing near him at the front of the room — it was not clear who — shouted, "Heil the people! Heil victory," the room shouted it back.

"America was, until this last generation, a white country designed for ourselves and our posterity," Mr. Spencer thundered. "It is our creation, it is our inheritance, and it belongs to us."
But the white race, he added, is "a race that travels forever on an upward path."
"To be white is to be a creator, an explorer, a conqueror," he said.

More members of the audience were on their feet as Mr. Spencer described the choice facing white people as to "conquer or die."
Of other races, Mr. Spencer said: "We don't exploit other groups, we don't gain anything from their presence. They need us, and not the other way around."

My idea of objective evil is someone laughing and making a tasteless joke on camera when she finds out someone else was just sodomized to death with a knife. Then there's the whole "commit a senseless act of war sure to trigger a nuclear exchange" thing.

And maybe I could take the NYT seriously if they weren't one of the many MSM outlets exposed as Clinton stooges by wikileaks. So Trump figured the way to flip Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania(all reliable Democratic states that voted for a black President) was to become a Nazi? Really? There's more of a rational basis for asking why Wahhabists liked Clinton so much.

http://slatestarcodex.com/2016/11/16/you-are-still-crying-wolf/

"50,000 is more than the 5,000 Klansmen. But it's still 0.02% of the US population. It's still about the same order of magnitude as the Nation of Islam, which has about 30,000 – 60,000 members, or the Church of Satan, which has about 20,000. It's not quite at the level of the Hare Krishnas, who boast 100,000 US members. This is not a "voting bloc" in the sense of somebody it's important to appeal to. It isn't a "political force" (especially when it's mostly, as per the 4chan stereotype, unemployed teenagers in their parents' basements.)

So the mainstream narrative is that Trump is okay with alienating minorities (= 118 million people), whites who abhor racism and would never vote for a racist (if even 20% of whites, = 40 million people), most of the media, most business, and most foreign countries – in order to win the support of about 50,000 poorly organized and generally dysfunctional people, many of whom are too young to vote anyway.

Caring about who the KKK or the alt-right supports is a lot like caring about who Satanists support. It's not something you would do if you wanted to understand real political forces. It's only something you would do if you want to connect an opposing candidate to the most outrageous caricature of evil you can find on short notice."

Caring about what the alt right is saying is entirely rationale  since the self-described voice of the alt right is Trump's appointed White House Chief Strategist.

I do connect Trump with who he has connected to himself and which you write long apologetic appeals for.

By: Rebecca Shapiro

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) plans to investigate the uptick in hate crimes that have occurred in the state since the presidential election, he announced Sunday.

Fliers promoting the KKK were found on parked cars in Patchogue, Long Island. A swastika was discovered on the B Train in Manhattan," he said. "In Wellsville, outside of Buffalo, someone painted a swastika surrounded by the words 'Make America White Again.

Just as a precautionary note lets not go overboard and let things get too heated we need discussion on these matters, not that anything has gone off the cliff I just want to keep all are voices heard. Thanks.

I live in Europe, and we follow the US closely.

Even here, we can "sense" the effect this election has had. People are different.., they "act" different. It is such a strange thing... as if someone kicked the hive, and thereby the hivemind.

I guess the tide is turning, but not in our favor. Migrants, minorities will be first. If they are out of the way, maybe we are next. I hope my prediction will not stand, but I also know that history repeats. Cycles and seasons of the Zeitgeist.

as a person who deals with the LGBTQ... news there isa big void of knowing which way things are going to go , there is a lot of speculation centering on past performance , but we  just know until the moves are made. And for myself who started transitioning 3 years ago I am deeply concerned , but we need to wait and see. I just pray things   will be all right.
