The U.S., as most of you know, is a little hung up on gender and the expression of it.  So now that my figure is starting to show more and more female traits (The girls are starting to show) when is it appropriate or not to:

a) go topless at a public pool.
b) walk around topless in a hotel room/patio when others can clearly see in.  I know, close the blinds, but that's tough on a patio.
c) (this is my current hang up) use the ladies wash room.  (forget locker rooms!)

If the girls are starting to show, I wouldn't display them in any public space.

Use the ladies' room if you are presenting a female appearance, and the men's if you are presenting as male.  Granted, that is problematic in some jurisdictions.  It would still be my first choice unless accosted by the bathroom police.

I am very much part-time, but twice, when out in public as myself, I have used the ladies' room without raising any eyebrows.  It's not about passability; it's about safety.  No way in h*ll am I going into a men's room wearing a skirt, wig, and makeup.

Actually a good question on going topless. Because for some reason I am more comfortable going topless now that they are showing growth.

I guess its a social thing, I wouldn't go topless anymore and in fact I feel naked without a bra(as good as that feels)  especially when I am out.

Yup me neither...suicidal in my book

Best just to cover up where its socially deemed so.

I follow the social norms as others have said. In the examples you noted, i never go topless in a pool/beach unless it is a nude one. Then, the social norm is nudity and you look out of place in anything else.

For hotel pools and the like, i wear women's bikini bottoms and a women's swim shirt (i have a pink one i like a lot)

I don't see blinds in a hotel room as much of an issue unless a room directly faces mine.  I use the women's locker room at the gym. I always use ladies wash rooms, even if my presentation is more androgynous at the time. I refuse to let anyone tell me i can't.

a and b are both you need to cover up. Once they start to show and you identify as female that is it. The woman's standards will apply fully to you.

C is when your ready and comfortable. There becomes a point though that a family type changing area or the woman's become necessary. Hugs

Thanks all for your responses.  I believe I should cover now, but in a few weeks there will be no choice.  As for the restroom situation, that was kinda answered for me at dinner tonight when I was seated at a group table and the woman next to me wanted to know why a woman was out to dinner by herself.  (that's another post in the "what made you happy today" thread)   But what I've decided is, If I'm carrying a purse, Woman's restroom for sure.  If not, then how far into the female spectrum am i?
