You can change your credit card so that it only shows the first initial of your first name. That's what I did before I did my legal name change.
For example, if your legal name is "John Avery Smith", you can change your credit card to show "J A Smith".
Your records with the credit card company will still have your male legal name, but anyone accepting your credit card (or debit card) as payment will only see the initials. If you're asked by the credit card issuer as to why you want to make this change, you could just say that it's for privacy reasons.
This way, you're not putting a fake name on an account - which could possibly lead to legal/financial problems later.

Yes, that would be a problem, wouldn't it? So don't do it. Get new cards with your initials instead of a fake name.
