A gay rights survey releasesd to coincide with the election campaign has found the major political parties have progressed on the recognition of same-sex couples, but are still reluctant to remove all discrimination.

The Australian Coalition for Equality says it questioned political parties about their stance on gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender human rights.
