Hey ladies,

I'm really curious...

Has anyone invested time and energy into changing their figure to get a more hourglass shape. I'm kind of a banana with the potential for an hourglass figure. I really want an hourglass shape. Does anybody else feel the same? If you have used corsets, what has your experience been like?

Corset training isn't great. I did it for years with a specially made custom corset but the effects don't last when you take the corset off and you can do damage to your organs. The best way to get an hourglass figure is anything that works your obliques- side planks and bicycle crunches are great for narrowing your middle. Also, anything that works your shoulders - like shoulder presses with a light weight- and body weight squats and deadlifts will bulk out your bum and your thighs a bit and will give you more of an hourglass illusion. That said, for special occasions feel free to wear corsets or waist cinchers- they're uncomfortable but they're fun for nights out.

Idk what it's from, the corset I wear when working out or just hrt, but whatever it is it seems to be working on me.

If done slowly, safely and properly, would corset training shave some circumference from the rib cage? The male cage is wider.

From what I have learned, the answer is yes. The change is not permanent, but once you get to your desired waist size it's a matter of maintenance like anything else.

No, unfortunately.  Your rib cage is bone, and it's dense. You can't shape fully formed bones with a corset.

You look fantastic!  The working out and HRT are probably what are giving you that fantastic bod.

Correct you can't change the shape of a set rig cage, you can change the shape of the floating 11 & 12 pair of ribs known as your "floating ribs".

Ah, fair. I just wouldn't recommend corset training to anyone. The effects are temporaryand there's too much risk to your organs. I used to do a lot of modeling for latex/fetish wear when i was younger, and it involved a lot of corsets (hence trying to waist train, to reduce my waist to cartoonish proportions).  At the end of the day, within a few days of not wearing a corset my waist was back to normal proportions, and I had done some damage to my internal organs- and I had followed my corsetiere's instructions to the letter.

I'm not a fan of the idea of corset training. That's a lot of hours every day of wearing one. I think you'd be better served from fat transfer if you can't get enough meat on your hips.. male waists are naturally smaller than their torsos. Ala the inverted triangle shape, half of the hourglass. Add some inches to your hips and you're the perfect hourglass. I have corsets, but I use then for fashion when out and about and not nearly as tight as waist training would require. If you have the flared lower ribs, there are exercises that you can do to get them to pull back in. Just like if you have "wings" for shoulder blades. Then creative wardrobe choices and you have a natural hourglass
At what point did my life go Looney Tunes? How did it happen? Who's to blame?... Batman, that's who. Batman! It's always been Batman! Ruining my life, spoiling my fun! >:-)

I had a tummy tuck about a month ago and my surgeon wants me to wear a corset for a few more months while I am healing from the surgery. At my age (67) my bones are to brittle for extreme corset tightening. Old bone do not flex well, they break. So I am limited to Spanx and waist nippers and other forms of mild corsets.
