I DID IT!

Yesterday, SK and I got dolled up and went on a shopping excursion; my first trip outside of the house as myself. We spent the day at the mall trying on and buying me clothes to start up my wardrobe.

Final tally:

2 dresses
2 tops
5 t-shirts
3 pants
3 bras
11 panties
Plus a full suite of makeup

An expensive but AWESOME day. I'm so damn lucky to have SK by my side through all of this. She helped me pick out my makeup basics, gave me her opinions on stuff when I tried it on, and took me out for a celebratory dinner after we were done :D

We were both on the lookout for glares and/or weird looks, but neither of us really noticed any. There was one dude at the restaurant who gave us some side eye as we walked by, but SK thinks it was probably just because he was upset that her girlfriend was hotter than his ;)

I took some pictures!

My makeup for the day:

My super awesome lady!

In the car! Time for ADVENTURE!

Specifically, adventure with my sexy lady!

Holy ->-bleeped-<-! I'm in public! There are people EVERYWHERE!

Star Wars shirt! #GeekGirl

Star Wars pt 2

It was the best day. I'm so happy.

Two hotties like you can expect to get a LOT of side glances and double-takes! Take it as a compliment. Flirt a little. Enjoy the attention.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

Today is day three (in a row!) without my boy disguise. Tomorrow SK and I will go to a NYE party; my first social gathering as myself.

Still waiting to figure out how to tackle work before I come out fully, but enjoying the hell out of my holidays for the time being :)

Selenakyle, you are truly a gift to the world, both through your relationship with your darling AshleyC, and also through your warmth and acceptance you show and live. You are a gem, a wonderful gem. You and AshleyC are a pair a gems.
At 64 years old, I am a bit older perhaps, and my wife at 61 years old is also a bit older I assume.
I hope there is as much hope for us old school people as there is for the two of you.

>.< Yeah, I almost waltzed right into work after Christmas with nail polish and makeup residue still on.
My union steward has enough trouble with people giving me grief (someone carved a homophobic slur into my hardhat at work earlier this year among other incidents and I'm not even 'out' at work yet.)

Depending on what you do, work can likely be one of the slipperiest areas for a smooth transition, for me it will be the last place I out myself.

Just keep 'sleigh' ing it over Christmas break and new years! (get my pun? LAWL) Worry about work when they're paying you and only when they're paying you lol

AshleyC,
I have had a long and varied career in multiple jobs and professions.
I now work perhaps below my skill level at a union job just for the health insurance benefits for myself and my wife and two adult children. I know very much that my employer would so not want to lose me that they would take me in any gender form I wish to present. I have already outed myself to maybe a quarter of the other people there.
The only thing preventing me from coming out to my employer is that is I am so far such a chicken-s_it coming out to my wife...
A marriage of 41 years would be something that no one would want to risk.

Oh God, puns! You and SK would be best pals. Her pun game is strong.
