Once we started talking about my transition, and what it's all about, she came to me and revealed she's in a similar sort of pickle. DW is 5'9" and large for her height, really long legs and top-heavy. This isn't an issue for itself, but there are some health issues we're dealing with.

The problem is she thinks/feels (those who know dysphoria will know this) she's a petite, 5'3",  115# woman, the mirror betrays her daily. But her body grew out of that phase long ago, and there's literally nothing we can do about it. Weight loss will take care of some health issues, but nothing else.

I know this is a forum for folks with A(wrongly)AB, but I'm asking if you've heard of such a dysphoric feeling in cisgendered people? I read of it once long ago, but have way to trace that reference, and use of the word "dysphoria" seems limited to our own set.

If she sees a psych/therapist for herself, what should she ask for or talk about? Thank you all so much for any words you can offer.

EDIT: I just found a reference to Body Dysmorphic Disorder, I think we'll go with that for now. It's a start!

Body  image disorder is as close as I can come but normally it's associated with eating disorders.
