Thought I'd post my experience with my first appointment at Electrology 3000 in Lewisville Texas. For you girls that may not know E3000 is one of the places that does full beard removal at one sitting using two techs and injecting your face with lidocaine.
First off everyone I dealt with was very nice and respectful. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and knew exactly what was going to be done and how it was going to be done.
Now for the bad news.... the lidocaine injections are not fun. The shots into most areas of my face were painful but bearable. The techs don't shoot your whole face at once. The techs through experience now how much area they can work before the shots wear off so they will inject part of your face , wait a bit then start clearing the area they've injected. They save the very Best for last , your upper and lower lip area. I have to be honest, I have a very high pain tolerance and found the injections into and around the lips to be BRUTAL.
Now for the good news. The seem to be very good at what they do. Was in the chair less than five hours for a complete clearing of my face and neck. The shots do their job well, the actual hair zapping was pretty uneventful.
The aftermath. The first night was pretty swelled up and red. Followed their advice on the ice packs on the face.. etc...
They give you good aftercare information. I've done my best to follow it. Three days later most of the redness is gone and the swelling is mostly confined to under my jaw.
I think I was somewhat lucky that I've never had a very heavy beard. I think the time in the chair was shorter than the average. Was the pain of the shots and the general discomfort worth it... YOU BETCH YA.... just wish I'd done this years ago. If anybody wants to ask me any questions feel free. Jessica.

Do you live in the area or did you have to travel? May I ask the cost. Hotel facilities as I would be coming from WA. I so just want to just get it over with. The way I am going it will be death by a thousand cuts.

Dawn, I live in the area sort of, close enough to drive but far enough that at wrong time of day the drive isn't much fun.
My cost for not quite 5 hours with two technicians was $980 something. Actual cost was a little more as I tipped both the girls that worked on me. I don't think tipping is mandatory or really expected but I'm kind of old school about that sort of thing. If you check the E3000 website there are a number of hotels close to them that I believe offer discount rates to their clients. It's also located fairly close to Dallas - Ft Worth airport. Even though it's only my first visit I'm super pleased with the result and well worth the short term pain. Was my best option as I travel extensively on my job and it would be hard to have the work done weekly like a lot of the girls do. Just a little mad at myself for not doing this years ago but on cloud nine now that I've started. Even with the redness and swelling looking in the mirror and not seeing a bunch of whiskers looking back is amazing. Jessica.

I just got back from my 2nd clearing, and it was much faster.  My first trip was 2 1/2 days with two people. this one was done in a day.  Ditto on the tipping.  We're big tippers, and they do a really great job.  And they're EXTREMELY sensitive to using proper names and pronouns and such.  Very careful.  It really feels like you're being treated like royalty.  (until they jab you in the face  :P )

We've stayed in the Best Western/Lewisville (link below), and we got king suites and even jacuzzis, so our prices are not the greatest (it was about $99/night for us).  But the staff there seems pretty used to seeing puffy-faced people coming and going by now.  It's about a 15 minute car ride from there to the clinic, I think.  We always rent cars, but I think you could probably Uber too.  You can also make arrangements with the hotel for transportation.  The hotel does have a complimentary breakfast, with lots of choices (including a Texas-shaped waffle).  If you'd like any food recommendations, ask me, as we've eaten the heck out to Dallas/Lewisville.  Congrats, Jessica, and good luck Dawn.  I think you'll be very pleased if you decide to go.  And tell everyone we said hi.  (We'll be back there in March).

Hi Jessica, thanks for sharing your experience. I've completed nine visits thus far and I agree about the team at E3K. Re the lip injections, I have learned to ask for a dental block where they inject lidocaine into your gums just as a dentist would to freeze your mouth. It freezes most of both the upper and lower lips (except the corners) and is vastly less painful with much fewer injections.

I posted some of my other lessons learned re E3K in a separate thread.
