So I've only been without Spiro for six weeks since my GRS and I'm sure it will take some time for everything to settle down on the endocrine front but I am noticing two things now that I'm no longer taking that daily dose of anti-A.

First, don't have to pee anywhere near as much...no surprise since Spiro is a diuretic. Secondly, and this is more of a surprise, I'm not sweating much. We're deep in a hot humid Sydney summer and I've noticed that my level of sweating seems way down. I used to sweat heaps before the Spiro too, so I wonder if this isn't more to the lack of T in my body more than lack of Spiro.

I saw my endo today and asked about that and my levels too. My T levels are negligible, about the same as before when I was on Spiro. He said that a lot of trans women report additional benefits along those lines post orchiectomy which can't be sheeted home to testosterone alone. Apparently sweating less can be one of those those things.

Anyone else notice similar or different things post Spiro and after orchi/GRS?

Following my surgery, i immediately stopped spiro as per the surgeons instructions. He had no advice regarding Estrace, saying I should meet with my doctor and/or endo.
I too noticed not having to pee near as much. Now I can easily sleep an entire night without having to get up.
Two years since my surgery, I'm on one tiny 1mg of Estrace. My endo says Estrace at my age (51) will have no impact, but she is monitoring. She's also using Estrace to stave off menopause.
Most important thing my endo does is ensure my B12, Vitamins D and Calcium levels are good.

Congrats on your surgery!!

I guess increased sweating would be another diuretic effect of Spiro as it is another way for the body to shed water. I definitely noticed increased sweating and peeing after starting Spiro, so it makes sense for both to reduce afterwards.

congrats on you GRS, btw!

Wow! I just contacted a surgeon to inquire about an orchiectomy. Just those 2 things would make me quite happy. Not peeing as much and not sweating when I just think about hot weather.

During my first attempt at transition I was on a different anti androgen (Androcur)...and possibly one other, but it was so long ago that I can't remember. Back then I used to sweat profusely, even during winter. As you can imagine, it was really unpleasant. I don't know if it was the overall HRT cocktail (including two synthetic estrogens...this was 1991 after all) or just the Androcur, but the sweating largely diminished after I stopped HRT. Makes me wonder though if an orchi at the time would have solved the problem.

I have noticed the same. The sweating isn't like it was before SRS. It's way down is the constant need to go to the bathroom :D. Hugs
