As you could probably tell by the title i'm torn between two FFS surgeons -- Dr. Cardenas or Dr. Spiegel. I've heard positive reviews about both surgeons for FFS but here's why i'm not sold on either one:
Dr. Speigel, I've heard he's notorious for raising his prices. I looked on the Transop package on Cardenas' website and for everything i'm planning on having done, and hip implants is only about $17,000. Oh, and did i mention that cost also includes my lodging, meals, and travel expenses? Speigel, i don't think, even offers hip implants, and i remember looking at an old post on this site where the poster said she was either quoted or charged approximately $22,000 for the FFS alone.
As far as traveling goes, since i've never took Amtrak before, i wanted to use exactly that to go to Boston and then maybe public transit to Spiegel's office, then probably book a hotel room or whatever for as long as i need to stay in Boston. But in Cardenas' case, i'll have to fly and i've never traveled via plane either. There is no Amtrak that goes to Mexico unfortunately. I want to use a train but at least my temporary residence is already included when i pay for FFS.
Additionally, i heard it's really hot in Mexico and i do NOT like heat! So if i do pick Cardenas, i'm not booking him during the summer months! That's for sure! But i don't wanna pick Spiegel for FFS, get it done there, and then go all the way to Mexico just to get my hips done. I want to only go to one place. But i did see a YouTube video of a hip implant procedure done somewhere in Toronto.
Which would you guys recommend?
