Regarding your birthday

I kept my birthdate...as I'm attached to the day I was born. It's a remembrance of my mom who passed away at age 49 of breast cancer. She never got to meet Nina.

I have to say I've never come across something like this before, the topic of people changing their birthdate. Nothing against it, just never heard of it before.

I don't understand it, maybe someone can explain why? There are probably a lot of reasons why, I'm just curious.

I believe those that do change, want a new birthday to reflect their new life.
I applaud those who change or keep it...we all have different motivations.

I will not change my birthdate but still the day I started HRT is now special to me. Not a birthday but a day of awakening. So I will celebrate it in a way or another.

I maintain two birthdays. The first is my real birthday which must be kept as it's tied to all of my IDs and social security. The second is the day of my surgery which for the most part is a personal private birthday. My surgical date is a day of remembrance where I remind myself about my origin so I don't lose appreciation for my current life.

Lol, well, I have kept my birth DAY, but my birth YEAR? Ha, it now reflects the age I am seen as by others! 

HRT absolutely reinvigorated me, inside and out. If I tell people my actual age, they do not believe it, and start to wonder why I am so well-preserved. Once I have FFS and a few other procedures, I will again revise it to match my appearance.

I have no vested interest in celebrating the lie I was born into, nor do I want to be seen as a freak. I am as young as I feel, which is even younger than I presently look, but once I am done fixing the damage T did to my bones, and re-adjusting some soft tissues, my numbers will harmonize very nicely..

I also see the day I started HRT and the day of my vaginal reconstruction as days of birth.

I hadn't thought of this before.

I didn't know it was possible to legally change the date. Or is it just a symbolic sort of thing for oneself?
