"This trans woman has bravely opened up about how she lived her life in fear because of her gender identity.
35-year-old Allysa Call said that she lived in secret for 10 years because she was scared of peoples reactions, a product of growing up in a small town. "

I would surmise, most of us are in this boat. I know I spent years undercover out of fear. It's a very lonely life. Luckily I have a family and right now they are supporting of my decisions.  But there is nobody outside my family circle. I am so lucky to have my wife and kids.
