Hi Venusxoxo,

Thanks for posting such a detailed experience with Dr Spiegel. Would you be comfortable sharing your before/after with your hair pulled back. Do you think Dr Spiegel was aggressive with your mandible contouring given ur jaw doesn't look too prominent too begin with. Also did he mention about any soft layer sagging issues down the road and possible solutions in case needed.

I have parts of my jaw that I feel could use some reduction, but afraid about soft layer sagging, unnatural outcome(horse face deformity as they refer to in Asia) due to over reduction, or barely noticeable outcome due to very subtle reduction and finally my ears looking more prominent in the profile view.

What's your experience like?

Thanks in advance

Hey Ypsdf09,

I'm glad to help anyone. Since were all on the same boat, but on a different river :)

With hindsight, yes, I believe Dr. Spiegel was aggressive on the mandible contouring (jaw line & chin), the jaw-line appears more tapered and smooth now. And he was also aggressive on the chin, he removed my dimple, and the two protruding horns, and also removed a lot of the vertical projection. There's still some swelling in the chin area, but I'm very happy with it so far! As for the jaw, it used to be square now it's lovely curved and there used to be a pointy bone, that I could feel, and now it's completely gone - which is now tapered. I've read about the sagging of the skin, but my skin is medium in terms of thickeness so it shouldn't be a problem for me or others if you're skin is thin/medium, and when your young the skin is more elastic, I think. I believe the positives definitely outweigh the complications/risks in my opinion. I'll make a note and possibly ask Dr. Spiegel about it at the pre-op in 3 May (for the forhead contouring). I believe the surgeons in Korea, make it look unnatural and barbie-doll like, whereas think Dr. Spiegel's result is more natural. I think it'll be more contoured over the months as more of the swelling fades. Yes, I've also noticed my ears appearing bigger too, but that's really nothing to worry about.

Here's 53 days post op. Photos taken are with a professional camera, with no makeup or any filters. (excuse my frizzy hair):

Looks like we're seeing him the same week.

Aw, that's awesome. Are you going in for surgery too, or just a consult? :)
You're in good hands, just make sure you ask him any questions you're unsure about. And any areas you feel most concerned about; so he may be more aggressively. My surgery is on the 4 May, the day after :)

Thanks Venus,

Your jaw looks pretty good even only at 53 days. I like the lip lift too. Subtle cheek augmentation too giving a nice natural look.

Best wishes for your forehead and rhinoplasty.

No, I've got the same set-up as you. Pre-op consult and then surgery the next day. I'm just a coupl'a days before you.

Aw thanks so much! Just the forehead left, all I can see and feel is that bony ridge >.< I love the results too. Better to do these procedures and get them all out of the way and focus on the journey of life. I love your results too, honestly you don't need to redo- your forehead, but do what makes you happy and confident... :)

That's awesome, you must be really excited like me, lol. All the best in your surgery! And speedy recovery to both of us! Hehe 😊

Did any of you have a Skype consultation before the surgery with Spiegel? He offered me a consultation for quite a significant fee over Skype, but I am not sure a Skype consultation makes so much sense. Image quality on Skype is less than great and he cannot touch or feel anything on me, so he can basically only do the same thing as can be done with photos, probably Photos are even better in quality. So is it worth paying so much for maybe half an hour talk on Skype?

Hey, yes I did a Skype with him, I believe sometime in Aug/Sep 2016, to go over something. But honestly, I didn't know what to talk about during that time, and it was very abrupt and short it lasted about 15/20mins, because It's lot different to meeting face to face, I remember I spent 2 hours in the office in first initial consultation... If you can I suggest flying over there so you can meet him in person, get a better feel of it, and you can go over it moreover, during Jan 2016 I went to see him plus visited NYC for 3 days so it was much fun experience. But there's not much difference, I'd suggest the Skype consult for it does save all the expenses. :)

The long awaited Forhead contouring with Dr Spiegel; surgery date is on 4 May. I'm super excited 21 days for my flight, and 23 days for my surgery left. I'll be posting pre-op photos on 3 May, and photos until post op @6 weeks. :) xx

My surgery with Dr. Spiegel  is on August first and I am like a kid on a road trip "are we there yet, are we there yet, repeat until you want to turn this car around!" I am not a big makeup girl so I am hoping this will help me be read correctly by other people.

Hey, first congrats! Yes, I'm not much of makeup user myself neither - I mostly only use eyeliner and mascara. I'm also really impatient when it comes to waiting lol. But time really does fly... mine is in 11 days 😊

Results are good and suttle, doesn't change you completely which is good.
But using imgur, you should have posted that privately, we can still see the pics if you send us the links.
The Imgur trolls, nail you in 5 seconds flat especially for selfies lol I learned the hard way too.
Would love to see a pic from a distance maybe

Aw I didn't know that thanks for the tip! Geez all they do is criticise others, they are very big trolls. Yes, I'll be posting the pictures, non-filtered and without makeup. :)

I haven't really seen anyone write the response I was thinking of, so here it goes:  You were very beautiful before FFS and are very beautiful after.  I just want you to know that you definitely did not NEED to get the FFS.  The after effect is noticably different and I can see what you and Dr. Spiegel were aiming for.  I don't think you need anymore procedures.  I am equally jealous of you before and after FFS (in a good way) and either look is beautiful and unmistakeably feminine.

Aw thank you :) <3 . Yes, I've always wanted a very natural result :)

I'll also be releasing a timeline (collection) of photos some time during/after surgery. From 1st Pre-op surgery [4th Jan] right until 2nd Pre-op surgery [3 May]. :)
