I am a little late to this thread, but I got myself a manicure and pedicure for the first time in my life a couple of weeks ago. I loved it! I left with beautiful long French-tipped gel nails and bright red toenails.

Congrats!!!

I've been getting manicures and pedicures for years and always enjoy them.
I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.

Wasn't it fun?  What color gel on the fingers?

I'm sorry I don't know your status in life - are you full time?  I would have hated to get a manicure unless it was going to stay more than a few hours.  (I'm having one tomorrow or Sunday so my first day in the office...)

Hi Denise,

I am full-time. Here are my nails:

I have wanted to do this for 30 years. Back when I used to dress secretly, I would glue on acrylic nails, and paint them lovingly and admire them for a few hours- and then absolutely butcher my nail bed trying to get them off.

Finally, I don't have to worry about taking them off. This ranks up there with getting my ears pierced.  Maybe even more so.  Long nails are unmistakably feminine, and I love them.

I told my mom, left another message with the psychologist who still hasn't gotten back to me (next call goes to a different one, lol), and I'm learning what I'm really like, since I suppressed it so hard I didn't really have a "self" before...

I went full-time last Thursday night.  Since then these firsts:
1) Hung out with an old friend who only screwed up pronouns once with someone else.  (not bad.)
2) Went to the local YMCA (I don't use the locker rooms) for a spin class.  (The pedals still went around :) )
3) Went to the local grocery store (They took my money with a smile and the food tastes the same!)
4) Went to our local pizza joint for dinner.  (Our order came out just as it usually does, with a smile)

Basically a non-event weekend.  Let see how the first day on the job goes.  Should be uneventful too.

Uneventful is good.  👍

May work be appropriately boring as well. 😉

I received an email thanking me and other members of a conference we attended for being out and supporting LGBTQ youth  They also thanked us for unknowingly helping them to decide on coming out trans too.  New brothers and sisters every day.

One big wahoo for an activist ;D
