Hello again everyone, so here I am two and a half months post-op and things are healing well I think. Finally got the dilation problem sorted and things were going along well until about a week ago, for reasons which escape me my clitoris became swollen and painful. Not horrendously painful just noticeably and constant; I also noticed a white "discharge" around it which had not been there previously. I'm a little obsessive about keeping things clean so I feel confident that hygiene is not an underlying cause. Internal infection? Normal process? With no medical available to me on my tiny island I am left to my own devices when it comes to treating problems and complications when they arise.
I had my surgery with Dr Chett and the results look pretty good, not as perfect as I'd like but I don't believe my standards could be met by anyone. I've tried contacting him about what could be wrong but haven't heard anything. I've spent too many years waiting and too much money having the surgery to let something ruin my results.

It sounds like there is an infection and if so, it might need to be drained or a round of antibiotics. At this point, any trained medical help is better than nothing so if there is absolutely nothing where you are, you should make some travel plans for the next day or two.

Thank you for responding, I suspected infection but was curious if others had experienced similar problems before. Much like the sensations I feel from time to time it's sometimes hard to tell what is a potential problem and what is just normal healing and nerve regeneration.
I began using regimen of Cipromax yesterday and today there was substantially more drainage but much less pain and swelling. Must be an infection of some kind, knowing how I got it would help prevent future issues. I'm re-washing all my clothes, changing my pads twice as often and sterilized all my instruments again. The closest location to my island with proper medical facilities would be Hawai'i.

Sometimes being over careful can be a problem. Scabs are natures natural bandaids and if you remove them, it creates a path for the the infection to wick in along the sutures. It's also possible for the body to reject the suture material producing something that looks a good deal like an infection. Without somebody who knows what they are looking at, making a diagnosis would be hit or mis.

Skin is nearly impossible to make completely sterile but you can reduce the bacteria count enough that the body should be able to handle it. The problem is surgery can create pockets that are difficult for the body to access. and the bacteria can accumulate creating a problem.
