how to post an avatar

I've been a lurker here for some time but now I want to be more of a participant. To that end I'd like to post a picture/avatar. How? What button to push?

It's tied to your number of posts.

Post Ranks ( including when you can upload an avatar/post links and photos)

thank you, but how many posts are required? I have maybe 15 or 20.

I believe it is 50.  A moderator should be along shortly with various helpful links and that is in them.
