Does anyone know of a Make Up artist, who would be willing to do my make up for my first time presenting as a transwoman, it will most likely be in June or July.
And I will most likely be staying at a city hotel (Melbourne)
Money isn't really an object
I want to look feminine not like a drag queen
NB: I'm 56 years and  186 cms with a slender build, and minimal body hair

Hey Julie,

I once stayed in Melbourne and used it as one of my first time experiences of going all day out and about as a woman. Melbourne was great because I have never lived there and I wouldn't run into anyone I knew. I went to crown spa (in the crown casino complex) http://www.crownhotels.com.au/crown-spa-melbourne/en/salon/make-up.html where I got a full makeup application, I was very happy with the look and the staff were lovely (even though at this stage I looked very much like a man as I hadn't started hormones). No one called me out on being trans, and I didn't look like a drag queen at the end. The makeup artist did mention she had done drag makeup in the past, but knew that was not what I wanted. I did this about 3 years ago, so not sure on what the current staff are like. However beware of how hot it is the day you get makeup, sweat plus a full makeup application do not mix, which I learnt the hard way. Good luck, I hope you have a great day there.

Hello Julie Rose,
I have had a makeup consultation with a shop in Bayswater. The staff are very helpful and trans friendly. They have a deal where the consultation costs $99 for 1.5 hours. Any makeup you buy is included in that cost.
The problem is that the shop is not close to a railway station, however, if noone else comes up with a makeup artist I could arrange to pick you up from a station and take you to the shop. Just PM me and we can arrange a time and place.
Hugs,
Bronwen.

You may like to consider Ophelia at Cross Dress with Class http://www.crossdresswithclass.com/. She does a full transformation service if required, and will definitely not have you looking like a drag queen.

Ophelia is a wonderful lady who has been working with cross dressers and other transgender people for several years. I know her from her time in Sydney, it was quite a loss when she moved to Melbourne.

This might be slightly off topic, but I recently got a photoshoot done to commemorate the man I am leaving behind and the woman that I am now finally embracing. It included a full make up session as well.

I was super happy with the results, it is more expensive than just getting your makeup done, but as you said money is no object.

Here are my before and after shots and as example, pre everything at this stage. I would say this is a timeline, but these were shot on the same day, in the space of a few hours actually.

Hi there! I realise this is a fair while later a reply than the others, but I have a friend who is an amazing make-up artist that has worked on everything from weddings to stage to film and TV sets. She's a lovely person and an ally.

A lot of the stuff on her page is quite extravagant but I can assure you as someone who's worked on films with her that if you tell her what you want she'll do exactly that, and she knows whats appropriate for different situations/outings/etc.
