Hello All,
I live in Georgia relatively near Atlanta. I am also trangendered. I want to be....no, let me rephrase that....I AM a woman. However, I was born with a birth defect that gave me the body of a man. I need some outlet, some place that I can BE...ME. Unfortunately, Georgia does have a LOT of very close minded people who do not understand or accept trans issues. And to top matters off, I am not employed. I was fortunate enough to retire early. However, my wife IS employed and works in a very high profile job in the public eye where it would cause her serious problems if it were discovered that her husband wanted to become a woman on the outside as well as on the inside. (and before anyone tries to reassure me that it's not as bad as I think, a couple of years ago, i told a therapist about my situation and she agreed with me that it was too risky for me to try to "come out"!) However, I am at a point where I could travel a bit to another city in the SE USA to be a part of a group where I could experience a small slice of life as a woman. So does anyone know of any good transgender support groups somewhere where I can go an meet and talk with others like me and maybe get to go to a safe restaurant for a meal or anything else?
