Told my GP

So now three people know, not including the gender therapist, my mother, a close friend, and the doctor.

She asked about my having been admitted to the psychiatric clinic, as I told them it was fine to request records and such from the GP, and I just told her why I was there and all that.

Barring some awkward questions, she was mostly worried I might change to a different GP as she didn't have much experience with trans issues, I pointed her to the new team that just formed in the area and assured her I was only going to them for things that are trans specific basically. So there's no chance of needing to find a different doctor for all my generic concerns, yay! She wasn't aware of the new program, so basically if someone else under her care comes out to her now she'll know where to send them.

Hi Danielle,

They call that progress. I found talking to my medical people to be easier than telling someone else. And now that your GP has a trans patient they may just decide to find out more about it. Now see what you've gone and done?
  Good Job!

I also mentioned it to my doctor recently.
I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.

Started HRT April 17, 2019.

Good for you too Anne. Was it a relief? I was for me. My PCP was the first person I told other than the denizens of Susan's Places that is.

QuoteWas it a relief?

Yes it was.  I mentioned it when I had my annual physical, a few weeks ago.  We were supposed to discuss it further at a follow up appointment I had, a couple of weeks ago, but we ran out of time.  I'm back again tomorrow, so I'll see what happens.  Hopefully, I'll be getting medication for an enlarged prostate, that will encourage breast growth.  ;)

BTW, she knows I wear a bra and want larger breasts.

A GP is a good first choice for anyone.   It's good to have them on your side, no matter how any other coming out goes.  I'm glad I,told her right after I told my wife.

I'd be happy if they don't get smaller while I lose weight :p

My GP won't have to deal with transition really, I've got (budding) specialists in mind for that
