As I mentioned in another post, I started on dutasteride yesterday, for BPH.  I know there are some physical side affects, such as possible breast growth, loss of libido, etc..  However, does it have any effect on the way people feel?  I'm asking this, as many people here experience emotional changes when they go on testosterone blockers or estrogen.  Does dutasteride have similar effects?
I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.

Started HRT April 17, 2019.

Years ago, there were some studies that reported a possibility of mental depression. However, more recent, larger studies do not confirm this.

The only other common side effects, other than the ones you already mentioned, include headache and abdominal upset.

Since dutasteride inhibits enzymes involved in the production of anxiolytic and anti-depressive neurosteroids such as allopregnanolone, it can potentially lead to depression and anxiety, in predisposed individuals especially. Recent studies (after 2010) have indicated even after discontinuation, that these symptoms persisted, at least in those taking finasteride.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

I used avodart for about three years, without experiencing any emotional or mood-related issues.  I recently stopped, since between estradiol and spiro my testosterone levels have been negligible lately.  The only effect I can point to is that I've had very brittle nails for some time, and that seems to have gone away since stopping avodart.
