Okay, taking a break from my paper to peruse the boards.
For those of you who don't know, I'm writing my end-of-term research paper on transgender issues (inspired by my GF). It's gotta be 8-12 pages, which is intimidating to me, as I struggle to write 2-3 page papers...but so far the outline is 5 pages, so I think I'm okay!
Plus I've found out some REALLY interesting stuff, like the theory that the Pharaoh Akenaten was TG. Who knew?
I'm up to my eyeballs in books and articles, but it's going well.
Anyone who wants to read the paper when I'm done is welcome to. The introduction is amusing; it dictates my parents' response to my various TG/TS friends that I've had over the past few years. They basically started out prejudiced, moved to tolerant, and are now fairly accepting. It's -quite- amusing to watch my dad's feeble attempts at helping me brainstorm...note that this is from a man who was totally against my lesbianism when I first came out, to the point where he refused to drive me to pride-events and such. I think that knowing Serra is transgender has helped a lot, even though he still knows her as Colin.
Anyway back to writing, just needed to take a break ^_^
