I was in PAI just a month ago, when I bought the clear dilators.

I have the three pack, the first 3 sizes. Nobody mentioned to me that they would have a size 4. I´m quite sure I would have been told, if there would have been size 4.

All 3 of them are 8 inches long. The 6 inch I guess is a reference how many inches are marked.

The size 3 as it is today in PAI, bought a month ago.

I am familiar with dilators. Dr Chett has 4 sizes , PAI  does not use the smallest size and starts with Dr Chett # 2, thus PAI 3 = Dr Chett #4

Regarding the times a day for diilation. I have a few friends that used Dr Chett. They abondoned his schedule after 6 weeks. PAI recommends a schedule of 15 to 20 mins 2x a day for the first year. All the PAI girls have not had a problem with this schedule and have great depth. This allows time for a normal life.

Dr Suporn meshes his scrotal skin for the vagina and I am  not familiar with the dilation requirements. I am aware that there are some advantages and some additional problems associated with dilation.
When we first start our journey the perception and moral values all dramatically change in wonderment. As we evolve further it all becomes normal again but the journey has changed us forever.

Actually Dr. Chettawut provide 5 dilators (from #0 to #4). They all are smaller than the ones from PAI:

        Chett      PAI
#0   20 mm      -
#1   23 mm   28 mm
#2   26 mm   31 mm
#3   29 mm   34 mm
#4   32 mm  [36 mm]

Well this turned into an interesting discussion about the dilator sizes, because I didn´t know that Dr. Chett dilators are smaller in size.

It comforts me a little bit, because I started yesterday to use the PAI size 3...and the first time especially was painful and it´s not easy to get it inside, but once inside it is ok.

But the first times got me crying, that I wont have sex ever, because I´m way too tight. But, I understand that it will take weeks or months to stretch enough. This morning was already much easier.

And in anycase, those dilators are hard as rock...the real thing is not like that, it will give in a bit and accomodate...the dilator wont give mercy  ;D

I am going to ask PAI for a quotation (including shipping).

I agree that all those dilators are horribly hard and leave the whole work to our delicate anatomy.
On that matter I wonder whether something more flexible such as a jelly dildo would not make dilation more efficient and less painful (the work being then shared by both the dilator and the vagina). Unfortunately for the time being I could not find such a dildo which would suit me: every ones I saw were either too big (38 mm or more) or too small (30 mm or less) or not long enough (less than 7" insertable) :(

The medical dialators must be hard to enable your skin to stretch and essential for the first year. After a year of medical dilators you can use the soft one for personal pleasure. Much like having sex, its soft. I noticed that I still need to use the medical dilator to get the depth back even with regular sex.

I remember my two friends who had srs at the same time, one girl used to hang the #3 on the wall to motivate her. I remember very well the first time I moved to a thicker dilator. Also, couldn't image using the #3 PAI. It all gets easier with time and diligence.

Could you post the prices when you find out. I'm curious.

I received a quotation from the french distributor of Radiation Product Design. The price for one dilator (nylon, 35 mm diameter, length 10") is 266 USD (228 euros)...

That's ridiculous. I found another supplier. Do a search for Syracuse Medical Devices Vaginal Dilators, and you'll find some suppliers.

Here's one

https://www.smeincusa.com/sme/syracuse-medical-vaginal-dilators.html

Also look for this article which mentions them, and some suppliers

"Vaginal dilation: When it's indicated and tips on teaching it", OBG Manag. 2012 December;24(12):12-18.

Edit: I think they may be too short.

Lucie

Thank you AnonyMs for this information. I asked smeincusa for the length of these dilators, but I am afraid that they are too short since in the article it's said that "Most dilators used in the United States are 6 in (15 cm) long".

Maybe they could make make you a longer one. Tell them there's a potential market for them, and why.

smeincusa (Superior Medical Equipment) is a reseller. I could not find any mail address or web site allowing to contact the manufacturer (Syracuse Medical Devices). Anyway I am pretty sure that their price for a special production would be at least as high as the one of the Radiation Product Design dilator.
I think that I have to stick to the idea of finding someone who plans to go to PAI in the hope that she could get for me their largest dilators and send them to me.

It's probably really easy to make one if you know anyone with access to a lathe. Suporns early dilators were made at his daughters school.

I don't know anyone in my area who could do that. Not to mention the explanations (somewhat embarrassing for me) I should give to that person about the purpose of the dilator...

I am 9 months post op and am totally satisfied with the outcome of my SRS with Dr Chettawut, except that I find I am somewhat tight. I am in search of a 35 mm straight dilator (or dildo) but so far failed to find one.

Thanks Lucie. 35mm I think quite possible to accommodate once you gotten to the size 4 of Chettawut. I noticed thou that for PAI the tip is smaller as compared to Chettawut ones. Which seems to be more of even to the tip from the diameter point of view. I feel some pain thou once hitting the depth and trying to maintain it.

I have one question for Chettawut gals thou, do you encounter any difficulties during intercourse? It seems that one probably need to dilate first prior to intercourse, else its difficult to accommodate?

Yes, I absolutely need to dilate before intercourse. That's why I aim to accomodate a 35mm dilator, so that in that situation I do experience as little difficulties as possible, if any.

For the time being I could not accommodate a 35mm dilator without dilating with the size 4 of Chettawut beforehand.
Now and then I too feel some pain when #4 reaches the end but it is always momentary and quite bearable. Anyway, after a few minutes I feel no longer any pain even if I push strongly.
As for the PAI dilator I would not say that its tip is smaller than Chettawut ones but that it is rounder (less flat).
