Is it possible to combine the beneficial effects of the HCG diet and HRT

I am starting into another round of HCG weight loss using the Simeon Protocol. I've had good results recently, reducing from 260 lbs to 225 lbs, then keeping it stable since the first of the year. My current goal is another 40 lb weight loss taking me below 190 lbs. (I'm 5' 11") According to Dr. Simeon's theories, HCG frees up fat making it mobile, and thus able to be burned for energy. This is the basis for the diet. He also discusses how it helps people who have depleted their normal fat reserves through excessive starvation diets, by shifting fat from their abnormal fat reserves back into those areas of the body where it's needed. For instance, the normal fat deposits between organs, the pads of fat that cushion the bottom of the feet, etc. Has anyone ever used HCG to free up the fat available for HRT to redistribute into a more female shape? I've never heard of this anywhere else, it's just my own brain processing a possibility...

Nice job on the weight loss. I'd consult your doc about how that interacts with your hormones.

As i understand the diet, a big part of it is very low calories for many days in a row and that alone is bound to lower your overall weight. Anytime we put ourselves in a deficit, the body goes to the storage areas because even a fair sedentary person needs 1500-2000 calories per day. I was running about 1000-1200 calories per day for a while and i know how hard that level is even.

For fat redistribution i have found that doing a plan where i gain and lose the same 5 pounds repeatedly, has made the new fat go to the right areas and when i lose it, it doesn't seem to be coming off those areas very much. The net result is i have added inches to my hips and butt.

The increase of my breast size on HRT has to also be figured into the weight equations. When those were much smaller, they didn't weigh much, now they do.

Thank you for your response RobynD, and I will certainly consult my physician for possible contraindications on the drugs, but I'm looking for people who have used it successfully for relocating fat. Your idea of loss/gain is an interesting one and makes lots of sense.

What you say about the HCG diet is a common misconception, but one easily made. 500-600 calories a day can distract a person from what's really going on. After all, it makes sense that starving yourself at that level will "reduce" fat in a very non-healthy way. However, that ignores the critical importance of the presence of HCG, a hormone. As we know, hormones have radical effects that supersede the "normal" workings of the body, and this is the point of the HCG diet.

Starvation doesn't release abnormal fat deposits (the stuff we all hate) first. Those only go after the normal, healthy fats have been exhausted, followed by organs and muscles. The stuff we really want to go, goes last. HCG reverses that process by freeing up the unsightly stuff first. At least, that's what I get from my reading. There is a ton of misinformation about this diet, so I prefer to go to the source, Simeon's own book, for my material. This seems to be where I get my best results.

So you've gotten a prescription for hcg?

Yes! hcgdietinfo.com has two US-based online sources for hcg. You do a phone consult with a Doc and order direct through them. Pretty easy. Also, most areas have local practitioners that will work with you. The online sources have their own modified programs, but I prefer to stick to the Simeons protocol. I didn't mention HRT to the doc I spoke to, since I didn't plan on starting it until I finished the HCG course. Now I'm wondering if there is any advantage to combining the two experiences in some complementary way.

I've heard of people doing this diet and they were sold some "analog" of hcg instead of the real thing. When it comes to hormones, only the real thing works. Lots of scams with T where a fool and his or her money are soon parted.

Yes, true. That's why I stick to US firms that require prescriptions, not the mail order overseas sources. It's not hard to tell the fake stuff. Real HCG removes the hunger that you otherwise can't avoid at these caloric intake levels...

Update: I'm 3 weeks into the HCG using the Simeons protocol, and the good news is I'm down to 207 lbs from a starting point of 225 lbs. However, I can't see any real effect, that I can detect, on the HRT. It doesn't seem to help the fat redistribution, or hurt it. I'm rapidly losing it in the belly and "love handle" region, so I'm happy with that. I'll probably look into the "lose 5 lbs, gain 5 lbs" technique mentioned above, once I'm done with the weight loss. I'd still love to get below 190, but at my current rate, I think below 200lbs is more realistic. That's awesome, though - I haven't been in that range (or even my current one) in decades!
