I tried something different today and had a spiral cut potato with onions, garlic, and chicken pan fried in olive oil then topped with three scrambled eggs, sour cream, and hot sauce.  Sauerkraut on the side with coffee to wash it all down. (656 cal)

  Deborah,

Sometimes I think your selections for breakfast are somewhat strange, but then I remember you are very much into a strict diet that meshes with your lifestyle and I need to just accept them. Our needs for nutrition may diffe, but we do enjoy our foods and their preparations. Thank you for contributing.

Hugs,

I ate that after a big workout this morning and was trying to balance macronutrients as much as trying to invent something that tasted good.  It did taste pretty good but I was hungry enough that anything would have been good, LOL

The sauerkraut is purely for gut health but since I crafted it myself it tastes pretty good too.

Morning folks,

Here is my offering for today.

Surprisingly Delicious
Spinach, green onion, zucchini, green, yellow, and orange bell pepper, maple sausage, and cheese. With a side of sliced peach.

No wonder I don't lose weight, I cook for two and serve to one.

Bon Appetit,

Add an egg or two Julia and I'll come visit.

Laurie
I would love to have you over for breakfast . I would make you the 2 eggs to go with the waffles too. Lol

I always make extra sausage when I make waffles.  My dad and brother can scarf up some sausage. They both like dipping sausage in the syrup. They both eat like pigs and still have the washboard abs. SO not fair!

Careful what you say Julia, I have been known to knock on doors unexpectedly. Let's see if I remember right you live somewhere near Denver.... I've made a few visits there.

I don't know what snags and rockets are (at least those on a plate) but it does look good Tammy.

Too many carbs for me by the looks of it but I've been known to splurge. I've been trying to cut down on my portion sizes and carbs also.

I know snags are sausages. At least that's what Aussies call them. I will have to ask Tristan what rockets are.

There's a cooking forum?!?! Why did I not notice this before!

I have no pictures to offer, but when I do eat breakfast one of my favorite things to do is Japanese style omelettes or tamago gohan (I love Japanese cuisine). Japanese style "omelettes" are a lot more savory, and good for a change of pace without needing a lot of cheese or other additions to make it tasty. Tamago gohan is literally just "egg rice". You just take a bowl of steaming hot fresh rice (preferably short grain or medium grain) and just crack a raw egg into it. The rice cooks the egg, top with seasoning (varies, but I like furikake, which I won't explain here), done!

Also all about making from scratch waffles. If I'm feeling masochistic I'll do some homemade hashbrowns in an attempt to recreate waffle house without the amount of calories, but that is typically way too much work.

(Usually though I'm not really a breakfast person, so a lot of this stuff I just make as a sort of early lunch and breakfast hybrid. I think I'll call it... "brunch". I should go trademark that.)

Rocket is the green stuff :P

Rocket is also know as Arugula, it's a member of the mustard family but not a bitter as mustard with a more peppery taste.

Aussies do have some unusual expressions. I've had to ask Tristan what he's talking about more than once. He calls eggs Bumnuts. Bangers and mash is sausages with mashed potatoes. We were at a restaurant once and he ordered chips , that's Aussie for French fries. When they brought him potato chips he said he had ordered chips, not crisps, which is what he calls potato chips. When we first started dating,  we were watching a movie and he asked if I had any busciuts. I told him no but I guessed I could make him some if he really wanted some. I couldn't figure out why he wanted biscuits during a movie. He calls cookies biscuits. Lol

I like Aussie words and expressions. They are very unique,  of course they don't sound as good when an American says them. You need that Aussie accent. Lol

Blood pudding huh? ......suddenly vegemite doesn't sound so bad after all. Today I made sausage and cheese omelets with hash browns. I don't know why people buy frozen hashbrowns. It's totally easy to make ones from scratch.

It's true  :)  Google black pudding & you'll see :)

I totally believe you. After my Aussie boyfriend told me he's eaten kangaroo,  I don't doubt any strange foods from other countries are for real.

Hash browns are my bane. I made some today and they had to be the worst I have tried to make yet. Thin and mushy, like  failed pancake.  :( :( :(
