I made bacon and eggs for my dad and brother and I made a green smoothie and carrot bacon for myself. My dad and brother had fun making fun of my carrot bacon. But it's good. Does it taste like bacon? No. But the carrot gets sweet and crispy and I add a little bit of liquid smoke and it's totally good. Carrot bacon has like 100 fewer calories than real bacon.

At least you feed your dad and brother well. Green smoothies? Carrot bacon? No no no no way. There is no substitute for bacon. If you don't want real bacon you may as well eat beggin strips.

Be a little adventurous Laurie. Carrot bacon won't kill you. The green smoothie is really good. Spinach, kale, a banana, some berries, some Greek yogurt and blend with ice cubes.Yum.

That's the way it usually works. I've been known to bring my own pan(s) to ensure I have good nonstick pans to use. I usually leave them there for use next time. My moto: "Have fry pan will cook".

Now you just have to come back around and show us your stuff! I should be up for visitors around Halloween, a good time for wild outfits and trick or treating.

  Love the new avatar picture. You are looking good in that hospital bed but we don't want you getting too comfy in it now do we? I don't think I have see you with your hair down like that. It looks very flattering on you. Halloween? You mean your hosting a "come as you are" party and I will fit right in w/o a costume?
  I have a defense in that breakfast issue at your place last time... I seem to recall a discussion about a lack of breakfast ingredients at the time of my visit as home cooked breakfasts were preferred to be had at a homey place down the street. And in your defense the one you and Debi took me to was friendly and delicious.
   You might have liked the late breakfast I made this morning. I made cheesy scrambled eggs with a little rainbow bell peppers, green onion, and jalapeno slices all finely diced in them. I cut packaged ground chorizo  in such a way to make links which I fried and served with the eggs.

Yes, your breakfast sounds way better than mine, hospital scrambled eggs over frozen Obrien potatoes and a turkey sausage patty. I tossed enough pico de gaio and Cholula sauce on it to make it bearable. Come on down south and feed this starving sister.....

This morning it was mushroom, sausage and cheese filled omelets. And OMG, Tristan has actually put vegemite on an omelette!! Ewwwwwwwwwwww 😖😣  Way to ruin a good omelette!

  Your omelettes sounded very good right up to the point Tristan ruined his  . I'm surprise you are still referring to him as your boyfriend after that.
  btw  jalapeno slices would be a good  topper on the omelets.

Ohh, jalapeno slices are a great idea. Thanks Laurie. Yeah...despite his love of vegemite he's a good boyfriend. My dad just looked at him with a raised eyebrow. My brother said, " dude, that's just nasty and wrong "  lol

I like to use fresh hot salsa for a topping on my spicier omelets like those with chorizo or hot Italian sausage. Pepper jack cheese inside also will give it a little flair. Thin slices of salted tomato on top is another idea.

Julia, chorizo is a spicy Mexican sausage (really good in all kinds of applications). And none of you though to mention a poblano hollandaise sauce to top those omelets, what is the matter with you?

Here in Oregon I get chorizo sausage in both ground (like hamburger) and link (like brats) forms made by Johnsonville. There is also a pasty form sold in small chubs but I do not like using it at all.

I highly recommend La Banderita brand Chorizo if you can find it. It was recommended by some guys I know who work at a Mexican restaurant here, and it is far and away the best I have ever tasted. It comes in sausage casings, but grounds with no effort. It doesn't make patties very well unfortunately (so much for my chorizo and egg biscuits!).

That brand is not available in the Walmart stores here in Oregon. They also do not carry Johnsonville brand. Or Kroger store here (Fred Meyers) and Winco stores do carry the Johnsonville brand.

 Morning folks,

   This breakfast is for Tia. Too bad she isn't here to try it as I think she might have liked it. Alas it is gone now.
   I felt like making a spicy scramble today. 2 eggs, ground chorizo, rainbow bell peppers, onion, jalapenos, spinach tomato, a sprinkle of cheese and smoky chipotle Tabasco sauce, and a couple orange slices.
