Breast development stage?

You know by now that nobody can say for sure what your future developments will bring.

And strapless bras are always going to cause some hassles. They reduce visible lines, at the cost of physical supporting ability. Physics.

All I can do is remind you to look at young women who have been in puberty for roughly the same amount of time as you have been on HRT, and compare your developments with theirs. They too would have boobs like yours (as you have described them)... and yes, rounding out seems to come with time (and progesterone). Rounding out isn't exactly about size either, but rather shape.

We may be adults, but our boobs are just like teenage girls' for the first 6-10 years of transition.

I have found using a body massager on my breasts for a few minutes a day for a couple weeks when they were at stage 2-3 seemed to help them release some of their male tension, and kind of plop into a better place. But that may just be coincidence. But if you don't already have one, it is a fine excuse to get yourself a Hitachi Magic Wand. :)

With all these talks of larger cup sizes I have to wonder if that old rule of thumb that we can expect a size smaller than our female relatives doesn't hold water any longer.

I've read elsewhere here that that size smaller rule came into play when non bio identical esterdiol was used, T not being fully surprised and no progesterone to speak of.

Any additional information on the why mechanism here would be helpful.

I do have a question for any girls here that started a low dose protocol for awhile, and then eventually got up to transitional dosage of E (And progesterone). What did your growth look like on low dose as compared to full dose, and in your opinion did the time spent at low dose help/hinder/neither the development of your breasts.  I guess I'm wondering is if the timeline clock starts the moment E is started or when E and T are at transitional level, as it relates to breast growth.

Brooke, that old rule of thumb is an old wife's tale.

Genetics and proper hormone levels determine boob size. Notice how many women here see better growth results even after years on HRT just by switching from say, pills to injections? Hormones play a big part. You want them well within the fertile female range. Pills alone rarely cut it. They are better'n nothing though. Many of us have our development stunted by overly cautious doctors.

And most people who talk about HRT in places like this, let's face it, are folks who haven't been on HRT for long. So, we compare notes with other n00bs about our boobs. And our boobs tend to be brand new and still immature.

A sad fact of transition is once a person has fully transitioned, they become less likely to participate in groups like this, so we don't hear as much from people on the other side.

And, like any other woman, a great amount of breast tissue comes from excess fat. I am sure I would lose a cup or two if I lost the 20 lbs I need to lose to get my BMI back to normal for my height. But being slightly overweight as a woman certainly has more perks than as a man.  >:-)

Link, it is like you are describing MY chest! I was between D and DD by 12 months and folks around here would not believe me.

And yes. Large, conical boobs do NOT work well with virtually any bra (sports bras were the comfort option for me for a good stretch). Now that they are finally filling out, bra cups can start doing what they were made to do... but yup, you can tell they aren't quite the right shape still. Bras are uncomfortable in general, but the discomfort from having large, still growing boobs is like the discomfort of being a square peg wedged into a round hole. And the discomfort seems to come from the cups, not the straps.

The larger my boobs get, and the more they fill out,  the more comfortable bras become. But bras are very much a utilitarian and pragmatic thing for folks above a C. Girls new to HRT keep saying how they want big boobs and I keep thinking, "Oh honey, they are GREAT in theory, but a C cup allows you all the fun of larger boobs, while having WAY more options to holster them and move around."

lol right? Like my main issue is that since they are still filling out, if I raise my arms up, my breasts will stretch and the under boob kind of disappears a bit which means readjusting. It's not as much of an issue anymore since I've been rounding out, but it gets a bit annoying. I usually wear T-shirt and Demi bras, since they actually really show off the natural cleavage I have and still developing, and they are also sooooo comfortable compared to full coverage or balconette. I did research and I found once you're a D cup and up, you might want to wear a sports bra to bed just to give some support to your growing girls so they aren't flopping everywhere throughout the night.
XD and like seriously...C cups are nice cause you get all the cute bras, they aren't super big, no back pain....just like seriously. I'll come home from a day out and be like, "OMG my back!" then taking my bra off, "OMG ahhhhhhhhhhhh sweet relief....lol"  like seriously I can't wrap my hands all the way around my boobs anymore, it takes like two hands now, which is cool, but kind of annoying too, but I love my growing girls.
You're also right. like doctors will say our breasts only develop for like 2 - 3 years, though the majority of people usually start post puberty (I started at 19 so I still had some puberty left XD), but either way, our bodies develop pretty much like cis-women...which takes about 5 - 10 years, with the majority of our growth happening in the first 5 years. but it's worth the wait...with all the pains that is patients....and speaking of that I need to get myself a hitatchi wand. lol

That is a great point. I was on HRT years ago & then 27 years & no HRT, I had developed small breasts and for those years losing weight was mighty tough to do simply because the very first weight I lost was breast. When I did lose weight I lost about half of my breast size and I just didn't have any extra to lose. Was kind of depressing making losing weight pretty tough.

the mound on top of a mound

Exactly what I got when I added progesterone and somewhat rounder, fuller, heavier breasts. Areolas also much softer to the touch and nipples more erect.

Lol. The hole in the center is where the glands aren't. The doughnut around it are the developing glands. The conical growth is fat that houses the glandular structure.

The conical growth is the ducts forming and branching out, stimulated mainly by estrogen. Milk glands around it are mostly stimulated by progesterone.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

On HRT since early 2004
Post-op since late 2005

Yeah....exactly the same, though my nipples still stay mostly flat, but they have been more erect lately. and super soft. :D along with the rounder, fuller, heavier boobs.
