I had serious acne issues, still do, so my face is a pockmarked mess. Also, I've worked outside my entire life sans sunscreen or lotion at night (wasn't manly :( ), so my face is a wreck. Make-up barely covers and I end up looking like some sort of garish nightmare. Any suggestions? I've been thinking of seeing a dermatologist but I would like to save the money for other things if possible.

The best topical treatment I know of is Retin-A. But you'll need a prescription from a doctor, and it takes time. It's helped me, but it can only do much.

Beyond that, there are chemical peels and laser skin resurfacing...
