Redness and blistering after electrolysis

Some advice needed.  I went to a beautician who says that she has experience with mtf beard removal, but I was left with bad redness that lasted nearly 2 weeks. I also got spots that filled with pus (sorry).  I have a customer-facing job, so having angry patches on my face is not really an option.
Is she doing it wrong, or is this normal with quite heavy, strong, deep follicles?

I admit I have some pretty  tough hide but normally my redness lasted less than a day. If you are receiving thermolysis, it's possible the power is set far to high. With the blend, the thermolysis could still have the same issue. My operator had electrolysis and because she had scars as the result, was very careful about the power setting. It may take a bit longer at a lower setting but it's the right way to do it.

You may experience redness for two or three days, but not two weeks.  If you go back to this electrologist make sure they adjust settings by quite a bit, and I'd pay close attention to how they respond when you tell them.  If they downplay or shrug it off, I'd cancel on the spot and go somewhere else.  This is your face. 

Are there other electrologists in the area?  I found mine through referrals from other MTF.

I have been doing electrolysis for two years now and my provider uses a blended system.
Redness for a day or two but never any blistering has been common.
It does sound like the settings may be too high.
Also it is important that the probe is inserted fully and stays there until the hair is fully treated.
With the blended system this takes just a few seconds.
There is a lye that is produced and I think that might be the cause of the reaction you are getting.
I have an appointment today so I will ask about the blistering you are getting and let you know what my provider says about that.
