I've kind of disappeared off this site for a while, I've had a lot of things taking up my time (mainly being a senior in college and being an officer for my school's Queers & Allies club) but I came back to say that I finally have a date for surgery! I'm down for August 2 with Dr. Keelee MacPhee in Raleigh, NC.

My insurance should be covering it, the ACA laws requiring them to remove their exclusions finally hit my plan on July 1, but unfortunately that also means I can't even SUBMIT the paperwork for coverage until July 1. Even then, I still have my deductible to pay so it's certainly not cheap. Super worried that I'll get a denial and have to appeal and not have time to do that before the surgery has to be paid, but I really can't wait any longer. My final semester of college begins mid-September and I don't want to push my graduation back even a little bit. Getting surgery before I graduated has always been my goal along with getting my name change, which FINALLY happened as well.

Anyways, I'm super excited to be having surgery finally. I am getting DI (not sure if she even does anything else) and my chest is probably a 38A or something. (I had to buy a bra about a year ago for drag purposes and all I can say is my cup is so small that finding an A with that band size is almost impossible. And I didn't even fill one of the cups). Despite that size, I'm not a good candidate for peri anyways, my nipples are in a weird place and pretty big, and ultimately I'd rather adjust to having scars than adjust to nipples not being in the right spot.

I hadn't seen much from this surgeon before January, but since January and the ACA requiring exclusion removals for many insurance companies here, I've seen more guys online going to see her.

Insurance has been a nightmare so I'm no longer paying with insurance. They wore through my patience AND my father's patience which is quite a feat.

Luckily my parent have come to understand how necessary this surgery is and they told me they're finding a way to pay for it ourselves. I'm calling Dr MacPhee tomorrow first thing to let her know to not bother with submitting to insurance and that I'll just pay the down payment myself. I have a good chunk saved up already, so the down payment at least is no problem.
