I'm more or less dead center of the state, so travel isn't all that big for me. Statewide anyway. But I need to know, does anyone know of a good, trustworthy vocal surgeon anywhere in the state? If it's a little past the border that's fine. As long as it's not in Chicago or something. If you know of one in St. Louis or KC, that would be absolutely great. Been to both cities many times, and know my way a bit around just a hair. As long as I have my GPS anyway. ;D

Voice surgeons are pretty rare and the nearest one I could recommend would be Dr Haben in Rochester, NY. Air fare is pretty cheap and the hotel is included in the price of the surgery. The only thing you need to pay for if you work it right is a couple of cab trips totaling under $100 and the food you eat while staying in the hotel. There are a few more doctors in the United States, mostly on the coasts but I don't know enough about them to recommend them. For me it was 4 days as I left early Monday, examine on Tuesday, surgery on Wednesday and arrived home very late Thursday. I might have made it home earlier but the only flight available took me through Florida.

I second this option. I'm from the St. Louis area (about an hour away) and this was the option I chose. I'm extremely happy with my choice, and my results. I realize it's farther away than you'd like, but he does great work.

I will third the option.  I am in the middle of Missouri, too.  I went to haben and am very happy with his work.  We drove...it was only 14 hours to get there.  Piece of cake!  LOL
Some people say I'm apathetic, but I don't care.
