Hey,

I'm a MtF, don't really belong here.

I heard that many of you are on T hormones and you would like to get more masculine. Well let me tell you one thing. Many genetic guys take steriods to get muscles and they say that it isn't very effective if you don't lift wieghts. Plus lifting increases testostorone and decreases E.

anyway, I recommend you workout for 1 hr for 4 days in a week. Do low reps with heavy wieghts to gain mass. This will help you a lot!

good luck!

I work out everyday for 2 hrs or more.  I stopped after top surgery but now I'm game again. :icon_dance:

I totally need to get down to the gym. My school offers weight training and they say the schedule is reasonable. This'll be great preparation for my career (I'm going into politics -- I'm a'gonna be the next Arnold!)
Lock up yer daughters.

To gain muscles, go near maximum, if you go to low, go just gain resistance, burn energy (and even muscle mass if your carb intake is too low). I see people in gym doing those stupid long series all the time and I just laugh. Doing 100 times at 80% on a muscle just risks muscle tears once the muscle goes lactic from overused and loses its flexibility.

Once the muscle's tired, move on to another muscle.
There's a reason why people train twice a day instead of doing
very long training sessions. You need to give the muscle time
to recover.

this would all be great... if i could go to the gym.  i've got to get in shape before i can work out.  only skinny people at the gym.

I used to live at the gym. Split routines, very dedicated to getting big but never with 'roids. My body adapted to it right away and it was not long before I was benching in the 300s. Nowadays the couch is a bit on the heavy side. LOL

I did eventually learn from a group of hardcore bodybuilders on how to whittle my time down and make every workout count. There was no socializing out on the floor. Go in, go heavy, shower, and head out.  30 minutes in the gym on average and it worked pretty well for me.

All that hard work and no one would ever guess that I used to be a huge bodybuilder by looking at me now.

..Of course, you could always become a framing carpenter. ;D
Nothin like lifting 2x4's, Headerboards, and plywood all day arround a bunch of arrogant macho dudes to get your body built and attitude adjusted!

Now that I am stationed in the desert I have PLENTY of time for the gym.  Had not worked out since end of Feb due to seeing family and school before I shipped out.  Went to gym yesterday morning and worked out mostly arms because i am waiting for my assessment on Sunday.  I worked everything until failure and plan to to crunches and push-ups every day or nearly everyday to help loose the stomach and build the arms faster.  I just hope I can get the trainer past the you need to be tone and slim mentality.  I want bulk and slim... I just can't imagine how much my hockey will improve if I can do that.  My goal is a year from now, to be as close to 15% body fat as possible and 40lbs lighter.  Its going to be hard, but I believe I can do it since my command encourages working out.
