So I normally don't do the packer thing. The few times I've worn them, they've just felt more annoying than affirming.
That being said, I think I'm going to be in a situation where I'll need one this summer because I'm going to be taking a very long beach vacation and intend to live as a seal the entire time (IE: I may leave the water to sleep).

Wet stuff's clingy and even though I have a pretty meaty mound, I feel something else needs to be there to catch the cling. I'm not looking for anything expensive because it's going to be mercilessly exposed to salt water and chlorine. It will probably get chucked after the two week excursion.

Criteria:
1. Cheap.
2. Comfortable and very easy/not annoying to wear.
3. Nothing stupidly huge that's going to look like a boner.
4. Relatively quick US shipping (I'm shoving out in August).

I'm a 5'7" 190lb muscular/meaty guy, so I can pull off more than something super tiny without it looking funky, I think.

All that being said, do any of you have any tips for securing the packer to the swim trunks? I wear the ones that have the built-in mesh 'junk cradler' but I'm going to need something a bit more secure than just that. Paperclips? Anything (besides an additional harness)?

Thank you guys in advance.

I suggest getting a Mr. Limpy or a Masho or a Packer Gear. They come in various sizes like a 3.5'' limpy or 4'' Packer and masho. But most importantly they're all very cheap so if you get 2 of them and just ware one down and insert new one or switch them out every other day it shouldn't get too uncomfortable packing.

For securing them I would recommend either wear a speedo type bathing suit under your trunks (same as tighty whitey trick under regular pants) or get quick drying compression shorts from Nike or Under Armer etc or get a the speedo trucks that you see swimmers wear. Basically wear another form of form fitting bathing suit/compression shorts underneith your regular suit. You can pick them up fairly cheap.

I second the packers above. The Limpy 3.5" would be my pick but the MASHO is also great. Haven't used a packer gear but they look equal from what I've seen.

I have a pair of those trunks with the mesh inside that's a brief and it holds my packers perfectly. I even packed the 5" reelmagik packer in that without anything else in the ocean with no problems. Never felt like I was gonna lose it. If yours don't have that or you want something else then I'd personally recommend a Speedo over compression shorts. I've found that any legged undergarment just aren't as secure as briefs, no matter what I've tried. I have a pair of compression underwear thats the single worst underwear I own for packing. But different bodies fit packers and underwear differently so that may or may not be the case for you.

The ReelMagik basic packers, the SOFT version. They are the most realistic packer you can buy that won't cost you hundreds of dollars. And definitely the most comfortable packer to wear on the market. All other packers, you're constantly aware of the fact that you have something in your pants, but with these, you put it in and forget about it. They come in five sizes and 5 colors. They also hang the most naturally in your pants of any packer. You don't have to worry about adjusting it or how it looks, you just put it in your pants and it instantly looks and hangs like a natural penis. It's a little more expensive than some of the others, but $40 for the 3" is not too expensive and well worth the money. And every time I've ordered one I've received it within a week, even on the cheap shipping. Seriously, I've tried every packer on the market that was less than $100, I bought the ReelMagik, and threw the rest of them away.

I think I'm going to end up going with Limpy since it's dirt cheap and only going to be stuffed into swim trunks. I have no intention of wearing it for anything other than swimming so I'll have to play around with it a bit with some various securing tactics before vacation.
Hopefully the mesh thing works out like you said, Dean, because I do have some compression shorts like you guys suggested but I hate them (truthfully, I sort of hate wearing anything tight or underwear-ish). That would be the other reason packers and I never got along: Tight underwear sucks ***.

If I ever decide I need to pack regularly, I'll look into the ReelMagik ones, Kylen. I've heard good things about them in general. Have you tried one of their pack and play versions? Packing would need to have more of a utilitarian purpose for me since I don't really get any mental relief from doing it in general.

Personally, I'll never buy another FreeTom product again--the wait time was ridiculous and the products to me are unwieldy and ineffective--and I'm just getting over the annoyance of the money burn from them so 12 bucks for a limp penis sounds better than forty.

Unfortunately I've only been able to afford the ReelMagik basic packers. I'm currently saving up to buy their STP which I fully intend to modify an insert for so I can use it as a 3 in 1. But that's a ways off yet.

As for securing your packer, try a jock strap underneath your swim trunks. Or if you can sew at all, I sew a pouch to the inside of my underwear that I can just drop the packer in. Eliminates all worry about it falling out.

You can also try "the joey" packer pouch. Its a really well constructed packer pouch that just safety pins right on to any underwear or swim trunks. Chase Ross just did a reveiw and said they can be used on swim trunks too. The pouch also hangs away from your body so if you're now comfortable having packers touching you all the time then that might be a good fix.
