Hello all! I'm new here. So hi, I'm Elise!

Today was a really eventful day for me; I found out that my insurer (CIGNA) would be covering my SRS in full. I never expected this would happen to me, but here we are! I had previously settled on Dr Suporn in Thailand but with this news, I'm restricted to only US surgeons. It's fine by me, though! I couldn't be luckier to have my SRS covered by insurance! I'm just severely overwhelmed with being back at square 1.

My main concerns, kind of in this order, are:
- sensation
- cosmetic appearance
- self-lubrication
- depth

I'm still verifying which surgeons are in-network with me but at this point in time, I'm primarily concerned with narrowing down who the best surgeons would be for me. So, I guess what I'm asking is which US surgeons tend to have the highest rate of sensate vaginas? And if you can't gather than info, what have you heard about the main US SRS surgeons and their results?

Sorry for the overwhelming amount of speaking I just want to be as clear as possible haha.
Any and all experiences are welcome and appreciated!

Marci Bowers and Christine McGinn.

Alas some of the items on your wishlist are not achievable.  I'll let someone else explain that.

Lucky you. I wish my insurance (Medicaid) paid for SRS.

We're from Louisiana and my spouse had hers done this week with dr mcginn. She was our choice after much research. So far the process has been very good. Others who have used her have had great results.

Bowers and McGinn were my top 2 choices, but at 2-3 years on the wait list...
There are many very good US surgeons to choose from.

And yes, they can address all of your concerns:
- sensation
- cosmetic appearance
- self-lubrication
- depth

I've settled on Dr Bluebond-Langner at NYU in NYC.  I'm scheduled for Aug 11th. Naturally I have great faith in her.  The other person high in my research was Dr Satterwhite in SF. Both have great reputation but their lead time is a lot less.  Dr Satterwhite's office was the most organised and easy to deal with of any of the 6 or 7 surgeon's offices I talked with.

Dr. Sidhbh Gallagher is a good choice in Indianapolis. I don't believe her waiting list is up to the "Years" category yet, but I don't know that for sure.
Seriously, I'm just winging it like everyone else. Sometimes it works, other times -- not so much. HRT 2003 - FFS|Orch 2005 - GCS 2017 - No Regrets EVER!

Elise,
I just had Gender Reassignment Surgery on the 20th of June with Dr. Dulin. in Plano, Texas.  He did awesome job but, remember this is not always a sure thing even for the greatest surgeons. I don't want to scare you but, the surgeons are going to do their best. You name any surgeon I have heard of some complications with just about all of them all be it small number of cases. That is not always the fault of the surgeon and they are all human. The procedures they are doing is well known in small circles of their peers. Just think of any operation by any Doctors there will be some fall short. The human body is quite complex period. Many people go to Doctors who are well known and well booked there is nothing wrong with that. It is my belief it is highly personal and don't let other people tell you their doctor is better it is not a guarantee. For vast majority of GRS doctors are more than qualified.

Good Luck,
Michelle
