New here but not that new

Hello, im new here on the forum, I'm a crossdresser from the UK, I've been crossdressing since I was very young when I had dreams of becoming a woman but unfortunatley that remained very much a wish, back in the 80s in the north of england the idea of transitioning was almost science fiction, needles to say I didn't get further than wishing.
Thanks to modern medicine and science its now possible but a bit too late for me I think, I feel the odd twinge of regret and get a few "if only" thoughts, but I love to see so many people able to live their lives as they belong (thats not quite sounding right, but you know what I mean)

I can tell you are a thoughtful person, as you see the positive from others who have transitioned to live the way they want. 

Five years from now, will you be happier if you had started your own transition five years ago? The best answer to this question is yours to decide and pursue.

Like the other ladies have said it's never too late. I'm 41 and came out this week. You just need to believe in yourself.

I agree with the others it is never to late to be true to oneself. You have to do things for yourself that makes you happy and fulfilled!

Ah, I reckon, I have to agree with the rest. It's not too late. But it is a decision you have to make by weighing all the pros and cons. Being older usually just means that there are already so many people in our lives who might be affected by the transition and maybe we need them more than we need to be our true selves full time. Only you can answer that question.

I have seen people transition convincingly in their 50's, 60's and even 70's. There is a thread on here ( I wish I could find it now..... will try to dig it out) where older trans women have done the transition and there is a discussion about the benefits of transitioning later in life. Get the facts before you make a final decision about it being too late for you. I was in my teens in the 80's too and there is no way I would have talked about how I felt to anybody then either.
