Tonight was sooo fantastic.
My niece (17) is staying next door with my mother in law. It was 8pm and I took a risk to hop into my full length nighty and pink satin robe thinking I was safe. I was watching TV when Jess said "hi uncle" and then everything went quiet when she saw me. What followed was a very open discussion about who I was and where I was at, or could be. 20min into everything Jess broke into tears and voluntarily came up and hugged me.
Jess will be living with us soon and it was always on the cards to let her know what she was in for. I was taking a risk but due to a comment from her 2 weeks ago about being accepting of transgendered people, I knew the outcome was going to be ok, just not how it would progress.
I still now have lots of moments to go through as being closeted and not liking the image you see in a mirror will make my fully coming out to her difficult, at least now I don't have to hide.
I am feeling very blessed that I have my immediate families acceptance and now also my niece. [emoji3][emoji3][emoji106][emoji106]❤️❤️

Treat life's difficult times as if they are normal moments, this makes the normal and special ones even more fantastic.

Absoloutley brilliant, its good to hear some positivity, people seem to share bad times more probably because "a problem shared is a problem halved" but if the good stuff like this was given a chance i think the world would just be a much happier place  :)
Thanks for sharing.
