After my GP told me it will probably no be at least 4 years before I get to a gender clinic (over stretched health system) I have decided to go private, I already have a natural a cup but once I,m on HRT what breast size will I reach or is it a case or different people different results. Sara

There was a very recent thread on the impact of gynecomastia on breast development. True gynecomastia is glandular breast tissue development, not just fatty tissue from being overweight.  There weren't a lot of responses, but the consensus was that it would jump start your breast size increase upon starting a HT regimen. At least it did for me.

I'm not sure that it would have any impact at all on the ultimate increase in size. My guess is that it would be more controlled by your genetics and to a lesser degree your hormone regimen, diet, lifestyle, etc.

After a couple of years of low to no T in my system. I had developed small but noticeable (to me) "A" cups...I am now a comfortable B cup after being on HRT for about 13 months however I have recoded that I did not start full transitional dose till 17 July last year...as far as results go, I tend to look at it from when I started a transitional dose, as the starting point to measure any progress.

The answer to your question is a strong ymmv. Each of us is different. For me, a year ago I needed forms to fill a 36A bra, now, after 12 months on hrt I am half way between a 36B and 36C and still growing. These on my 5' 10" 170 lb frame have me very happy. Some gals on this site speak of much greater growth and some say that they are still a AA cup after years of hrt.

I have to add that while my physical changes are very enjoyable, the mental and emotional impacts are what has changed my world. I could probably very reluctantly give up the physical feminization but I would never want to give up the feelings that have come from hormone therapy.

The advice I've seen here and from the gender clinic is to look at your mum or any sisters to get an idea of potential. Breast size has many factors,  but genetics certainly seem to play a big part in potential.

For me that means at least a c cup, Sara will be joining you on the private HRT when I can get my hands on a bit of private pension, cant wait either as finding it more and more difficult to wait.

If you expect to be Dolly Parton then make an appointment with the breast surgeon. Otherwise expect that you will probably get B's maybe c's.  And then it may take a couple years to see the final results.

I would very enthusiastically second that.. YES!  What Anne said!

The tendency to focus on the obvious physical changes during early stages of HRT seems to have such a strong pull on one's attention that it is almost unavoidable to be looking for that, and with such great distraction that the more significant subtle internal changes could almost go unnoticed (myself definitely included in the "need to stop looking" category).  I guess I can give myself a break and allow for a little bit of visual preoccupation ... but only up to a point.  I also am careful to maintain at least enough awareness of what's changing inside so that I can appreciate all of that intangible wonderfulness as by far the most significant aspect of the whole journey. 

For me the proof is to remember what I felt like before HRT and try to imagine going back there.  There is absolutely no f___n way I would willingly give up HRT and go back to life without it, even if there were no visible changes at all.  The feeling is indescribable but unmistakable and once you get a taste of it ... just think back once in awhile and be very happy about how you feel now.

Guessing you are in the UK with a four year wait?! Ouch! We have it rough!
If you can travel, you could try the Daventry clinic? (It may be way too far) as it seems to be the less overcrowded.

From what I have read most transwomen go no bigger than a B cup but if the stories that they will be like your parents is true...I better invest in a hammock haha

One thing I will say too is no matter what the size, if you are happy with them then that's great and there will always be people who actually prefer whatever size you do have.

What if one sister has big breasts and the other small ones? What about dad's side, his mother, his sister (s)? What if there significant variation within the family?

Every woman in my family happens to have large breasts, I have much smaller breasts after 13 yrs on HRT. Women in one's family, in essence ciswomen, have a very different lifestory than our own, having gone through those changes at a much younger age when things such as growth hormones and telomere size are quite different, they also didn't get exposed to high levels of androgens in utero or during (after) puberty.

Ofc YMMV 😉. As a general rule,  your closest female relatives could give you an idea of what to expect,  but as the great Gump said,  "Life is like a box of chocolates..".  Age,  weight,  HRT,  exercise,  build can all be factors.

I would be happy with a b-c cup any way are my bra's are that size from the breast  forms, don't fancy buy a a new set of bra's again.
