Only 1% of students identified themselves as gay or lesbian, 2% as bisexual, 4% as questioning and 1% as other. Other included queer, two-spirited, transgendered, transsexual or any combination of the other choices.

Matlow said he can't believe only 1% of the city's school population is gay or lesbian.

If it is anything like the school my SO works at, it is a misrepresentation.

My SO fills out the form for all students and professors in her department, she will (due to personal prejudice) never fill in any TS students, only one (1) teacher will all herself to be counted (even though my wife personally knows of two others).  And they have a policy of not asking the students. 

So how can they accurately report??
