Can testosterone cause siezure?

Howdee

So I'm 22 years old and I've been on one injection a week for 2 weeks. Back in December I had the first siezure of my life. During that time I had rapid weight loss and had done radical changes to my diet like switching to drinking only water and cutting down my eating drastically along with daily exercise. After my siezure the most doctors could tell me was it was probably the rapid weight loss and electrolyte changes in my body.

Cut to June and I'd never had any siezure or medical emergency since. I started taking testosterone injections and everything was going great. Then bam! Last night, another siezure. I'd also been slacking on my diet and haven't had access to my old workout equipment but had recently started up again with only drinking water and going for walks and bike riding.

The thing is my mom wants to take me to the hospital later on today to get tests done and I'm terrified my mom will find out I'm on T. The only person who knows I'm on it is my friend. My parents are not supportive of my transition and I'm moving out in September but I'm afraid what would happen if they found out.

Could it have been the T? Or my coincidental return to diet and exercise? I know I'm 22 and if I don't want my mom to see any blood test results they can't show her but what could I possibly say that wouldn't make her suspicious. Even this morning she asked if at my "mysterious doctor visit" they gave me any medication.

I just wanna know if the T could have been responsible because if it was and my mom finds out I'll never hear the end of it. It could also really be hurtful when it comes to me and my parents relationship. They might not be willing to help me with my move in a couple months and idk what I'm supposed to do.

Go to drugs.com and look up the side effects of Testosterone injections.  Apparently seizures are a symptom of a overdose......You may be taking to much too quickly.

One injection a week, to start with, seems high. Some guys do that, but only after trying for example once every three weeks, or once every two weeks. It depends on your dosage.

Be careful with dramatic changes to your body too. Exercising every other day works just as fine I believe and you certainly need to eat (otherwise how are you going to mantain growing muscles). With normal exercise this shouldn´t be happening though. It´d be wise to ask an endocrinologist.

You are 22 and your own person, so you can do what you like, but you do know that your parents will find out at some point (I think that if you take weekly injections, your changes will be rather fast).

Welcome to Susan's Place. This is something you should discuss with your Endo as T can alter a number of processes in your body. It appears you may be subject to seizures and once you start having them, you need to take better care of yourself so you reduce them in the future. You need a full diagnosis and you may be put on anti seizure medication depending on the cause.

Also a word of warning. You are cutting it close with your mother as signs that you are taking T could become visible before you leave her house. As she already suspects something, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a fall back plan in place.

Might be worth looking at what else is in the injection. I doubt it's only T in there.

Perhaps try a different form of T.
