Trans Friendly Endocrinologist/Therapist in Hong Kong

I had read the story of Ms. Bobbie Huthart / Roberta Huthart, a friend of Susan. She gave me courage to start my transition. Now, I get a problem that I couldn't find a trans friendly endocrinologist in Hong Kong for HRT. I would be much appreciated if Ms. Huthart or anyone can help.

Hi Naomi, I'm Bobbie. Let me give you some suggestions. First have you contacted the TG group in H K run by Joanna Leung? I believe if you are Chinese or speak Cantonese fluently that they can recommend. If you dont speak cantonese then I suggest that you take a trip to Bangkok to see an Endo and get a legal prescroption then you can purchase what you need on On line Pharmacy or from pharmacy.

If you are seeing a therapist in HK he can help. If you are using an online therapist they also can help. I used Dr Carl Bushong and he was fantastic. Im not sure if he takes new patients but he was not only my therapist but my mentor and guide. I cannot thank him enough.

If you need further help just post again as I note you have not posted enough to send a pm.  I currently live in Bangkok but will be back for the LGBT film festival where my documentary will be shown and I will be a speaker.

Hi Bobbie, I have found you at facebook today, but you are so beautiful that I am not sure the photo on your facebook is you. Thank you so much for your reply. I have been standing at the crossroads for a long long time. You gave me courage to start making my transition schedule in early of current year. I have made a booking with a psychologist today. I shall start my journey next week.

I had contacted TGRHK and other local groups. TGRHK gave me a trans friendly psychologist, Dr. Mak and nothing else. I had spent years in seeking help in Hong Kong, but I got no help. I thought that there shouldn't have therapist who is friendly and have good experience dealing with trans.

I can speak fluent Cantonese and some English. Joanna Leung did a great job for our community and that is much appreciated. I think that she should be so busy and hard to reach.

May I know where is Dr Carl Bushong? How can I contact him? May I go to the LGBT film festival and listen your speech?

Let me talk to a friend that is chinese who transitioned in HK and find out whom she used. Also Joanna is very helpful and approachable. Say I suggested you contact her.

I am so pleased that I am able to give you to curage to transition. Its has bren a wonderful journey for me. I will let you know when I will be in HK for the LGBT film festival.

Dr Bushong is an online therapist from the USA. He charges USD 130 per hour.

Hi Bobbie, I shall try to contact Joanna again. Does Dr. Bushong prescribe hormone for clients? I go Thai often. I hope that I shall join your team to  help others someday.

Hi Naomi, He recommends dosage and the types of meds but only after he is comfortable to do so and I am told he varies based on how he considers your situation, maybe after 6 sessions. Then find a endo for prescription. Normally, we should discuss this by PM on this site. But you need more posts.
