I'm 46 and at normal weight for 5'11", after only a week and a half on low dose as of this morning I'm already experiencing a bit of erectile dysfunction, about which I'm grinning like an idiot for some reason    Am having trouble getting in touch with therapists too, I'd really like to know what they think of that one.  My mind and body are at total odds here, it's quite odd, like wanting to cram more food on a full stomach.

Anyway, I'm wondering if this early onset is indicative of already achieving low T or higher E?  The charts I find for HRT effects like this http://i.imgur.com/MN5MYrW.png mention this happening in the first month typically, but I was surprised to have it show up already.

A little more softness in the morning erections was certainly the first effect that I noticed, but it really wasn't noticeable until week three for me. I think it would generally be an indication of lower T. I can't quote the site, but I remember one guide that said a lack of morning and spontaneous erections (tumescence, I think it's called medically) was a sign the the T levels were in the desired range.

All the best,

That's good to know, I was actually wanting to have my dosage bumped up a bit, can't be rid of testosterone fast enough.  In the last few days I've been getting morning leg cramps too.  I'd have my levels checked but here in the US it's prohibitively expensive.

Hell my free T and Total T level was defineltly in the female range for both and I dont have random errections anynore.  But I feel more wound up now than before.  I can still have an erection and orgasm but it takes forever to climax but OMG when I do they seem to last forever and are way better.

Lucy,

What you are experiencing is normal, I noticed the change within the first month and now they are basically a memory. I can honestly say that the other changes associated with HRT overcome not having that ability. I also experienced increased leg cramps as my T level dropped, make sure that you increase your water intake, it will help to offset the cramps as well help your body as it changes. Hugs

Now I've had 2 female style orgasms as well, which I wasn't expecting at all.    I lost about 60 pounds over the winter, mostly I think from just giving up on beer, I like to say to people "Apparently it has calories.  Why wasn't I told about this?"   :D  Feel the same way about these climaxes, holy ->-bleeped-<-.  Male orgasms are single pistol shots, these are artillery barrages.

For leg cramps eat more salt and supplement magnesium.  Drink more water too.  Spiro lowers all of those things.  If you keep your electrolytes balanced you won't feel any ill effects from the spiro.

God I wish I was experiencing that.  My libido and overall sexual desire and interest are at odds with each other it seem.  Mentally I;m craving sexual activity, but physically it is not there.  I only occasionally get morning erections and any other spontaneous ones are random and just that spontaneous.  If I experience something that turns me on, I have no idea if it will be a full blown "normal" erection or a lame excuse for one, that is only semi rigid.  But worst of all if I do orgasm, it feels "empty"

Here's hoping someone will have some advice for you, Myranda.  I've come across pointers for about everything here in old threads, like staving off being overly flaccid pre-SRS by using a penis pump.  That might actually help in your case, too.  Or a Fleshlight?

I should mention that I'm excited... :D about having my libido drop in a big way.  For years I've just want to shout at that thing SHUT UP!   Also I thought that feminine style orgasms were something only post-op girls experienced.  What brings this on, anyway?  Purely psychological, physical, a mix of the two?

I'm a ton more patient about things now, including carnality.  Maybe in the case of people in more dire straits that equates to relief from anxiety - dysphoria isn't disabling to me.

I didn't really ever notice a difference in my orgasms pre vs post-HRT until I started on a little T post-op and now, not only can I orgasm from penetration but also from clitoral stimulation and even nipple fondling which actually makes me feel more 'woman' than ever. I love it! This experience is in sharp contrast to anything I had ever experienced EVER before, obviously.  ;D
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

Post-op since late 2005

Its not the level of flaccidity that really has me concerned or worried or elated, its the type of orgasm and the feeling it leaves me with.  Its is likely a psychological reason.   I don't necessarily feel pleasure or disdain.  Its liek the act of the orgasm is void of all feeling, emotionally, physically and mentally.
