My remaining electrolysis work is mostly in that area every 2 weeks, 6 or 7 times now, 90 minutes out of a 2 hour session (remaining time eliminating anything left in other areas). I hope this isn't too much information but I have been getting rid of everything down there and around and in back, not just the surgical area. Call it hindsight. So if anyone was wondering if this is possible, yes it is. A good electrologist has the attitude "skin is skin" and you are the customer. I've never had any anesthetic injections, just some stuff from Mexico my electrologist sprays on which kicks in after 15 minutes. I told her the brand name should be Numb Nuts.
Having experienced this I can see where a local anesthetic injection may be necessary. I have heard anesthetic injection itself isn't a joy, but at least that quick moment of un-joy is followed with calm. I don't understand how this area can be done with high quality (truly clearing all hair) under general anesthesia - hair doesn't all grow at the same time so this requires several trips.
Pain levels in that region are inconsistent. I was surprised to find a few areas of the scrotum and even the south pole itself have relatively little pain (even before the spray anesthetic kicks in). The worst are areas where the genitals meet the rest of the body, random areas of the scrotum, and a few spots along the south pole. My electrologist says most people find the perineum the worst but I haven't found it that bad.
I started out very furry. Half Welsh seems to have overridden half Japanese genetics on this department. I find the comments on DES interesting. I asked my mother if she was prescribed DES in 1963, she said definitely no, and my high density of body hair seems to support that - an additional data point.
