My doctor has given me a sample of estrace cream to try and soften some tight cartilage-like tissue near the entrance of my Vag.  I was wondering if anyone else had a ring of tight skin around this area ?

My srs was in May 2017, so its been almost 4 months. I notice better sensation from surface nerves very recently and assumed it was just nearing time to regain some sensation.. or maybe the estrace cream caused it.

I was wondering if the cream does other things too besides soften tissue ?

Thanks

My gyno just prescribed this stuff for me and said it can help make the skin more elastic. I don't have any hard skin tissue around the entrance, but there is some tightness about an inch or so inside that causes some resistance. I have also heard elsewhere that it could possibly change the texture of the skin lining but I have no idea if that is true.

The hard tight skin is scar tissue from the laser. My doctor tends to talk to herself when she is working down there and made a comment when reviewing the scar tissue saying some day I will get a CO2 laser.

Gamergirl,

Is the Estrace cream working for you? My spouse has the same thing you have, and srs was also in May 2017. We just got the prescription and had it filled. Dilation has become very difficult. Has it helped with you? Do you apply it just to the scar tissue or to the entire inside of the vagina. She also has a tightening inside the vagina, so we were hoping it would help with that too.

I used premarin cream which is a similar product. While I didn't have the scar tissue, it was used to help convert the tissue to vaginal tissue. Mine was provided with an applicator which I would fill to the line and insert before my last dilation of the day. I have heard of others who were told to apply it to the tip of the dilator instead of using the applicator. If you have questions about the proper usage, I would suggest you contact the doctors office for additional information.
