When I began HRT, I was on Spiro. However, it lowered my blood pressure too much. So I was switched to Androcur. In the past month or two I have noticed that I'm waking up in the middle of the night with anxiety quite regularly.

Has anyone else experienced this, and could it be from Androcur? I know some people say they experienced depression while taking it...

I would make an appt immediately to see your therapist and endo (I'm not sure who you are seeing).

It may not be the Andorocur but it needs checking. I would suggest stop taking it until you get checked out. PM me if you like.

I came to give the same advice.

I had some issues with Androcur side effects and was told by my psychiatrist and gyno to give it a break. It was restarted shortly after at a modified dose. Played this game twice. Androcur really is one of those things where you want to find the lowest effective dose.

Androcur is known to trigger anxiety/depression in some as is reported in several studies. One of the reasons I don't particularly fancy it. :(
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

On HRT since early 2004
Post-op since late 2005

I have been on androcur for years now
I cannot say it's give me depression by itself I experience lovely changes with it
I already take anti depressions but I don't think it's relate to the androcur
My depression relate to place I'm living in and the people around me
