My facial hair is coming in!

Even with minoxidil the hair on my chin is only just starting to go terminal and the vellus hair has been there for about 6 months now. Even had a few transitional hairs doing nothing for at least 5 months. Has been about the same with my moustache.

Earliest I had terminal hairs showing up after minox was about a month though. Woke up one day with sideburns.

I might wake up with a moustache which would be rather comical on my at the moment

I just have to be patient, kick back, drink a coffee, work on those muscles ( looking good already), lose that extra body fat to enhance top surgery outcome.

Dan, I'm not trying to hijack your post (my apologies) but I wanted to pop on to add this.

For anyone considering minoxidil for beard growth, pay the tiny extra bit of cash for the foam.
I'd been using the oily dropper version for three weeks prior to today. It set my face on fire (no rashes, swelling or lasting effects so much as a pain in the ***) for a good 10-15 minutes after application every time and took forever to dry. This was a problem at night when I applied it before bed and wanted nothing more to roll over onto my side to pass out but couldn't.
Granted, it already has given me a ton of results, but between the pain and wetness it was driving me nuts. I finally bit the bullet and went back to Target to pay the ten extra bucks (20 for oil, 30 for foam) that I should've paid in the first place.

No burning, pretty much zero drying time and my face doesn't feel dry or flaky at all.

Even if you're not sensitive to the propylene glycol in the oil like I was, the foam is worth it for the drying time alone.

Just curious, with all the body hair you are sprouting, are you by any chance very dark haired? I seem to see a pattern of lots of body hair and dark hair in general v fair haired types ( like me) with thin layer of body hair.

Not necessarily, I am fair-haired (dark blonde), but not fair haired on the rest of my body (dark eyebrows as well). I became a bear on T (uncontrollable hair on tummy and legs).

I think with Minoxidil the results may subside once you quit Minoxidil, but perhaps I´m confusing that stuff with biotin (the extra hair that you get on biotin does not last once you quit biotin). I was interested in Minoxidil but got enough facial hair on T that I think I can do without it. It took about seven months for the facial hair to really start to show everywhere (except on my lip, which is still pretty much fuzz).

Edit: you don´t necessarily lose the results when you quit it, apparently that´s a problem that can occur when people use it to cure baldness (not for encouraging beard growth).

With minoxidil, once the hairs go terminal on your face, they're staying. Shedding only occurs upon stopping if you quit before the hairs enter that stage.

The one unfortunate thing I have noticed about pretty much every minox beard I've seen is that the hairs themselves tend to be less thick, sort of like the difference between an old growth and forced-growth forest. I assume they slowly thicken over time after the initial sprout but there's a period where, even when they're full, they still look a little wiry.

Oh man, I thought the burning was just my skin being difficult. It only lasted a few minutes for me and has mostly passed but I'm glad it's not just me. My main issue is if I put it on just before I leave and it's -6 outside it gets ridiculously flaky and I look like I have terrible beard dandruff. If I grab another 6 month pack I'll see if they sell the foam at a reasonable price here.

Personally the wiry hair doesn't bother me much, I've seen plenty of cis guys without minox having similar beards.

Dude... foam, 100%. I forgot to mention the flakiness in my last post, but that was a huge issue I had with the oil, too, especially around my upper lip area and on my lips (because it would get on my lips somehow no matter how carefully I applied it). Third time using the foam this morning and nothing. I've watched a few YouTube videos that said the same thing.

That's true, too. Honestly, at this point, it could be wiry as a schnauzer as long as it's on my face.
